How much real world difference is there between the KSL1 and KSL2? My local Spesh dealer has one 2022 S-Works frame left in the back, they’ve got it marked down to £3150. The guy working said the owner would probably discount it even further just to get rid of it if I were interested. He was saying something in the neighbourhood of £2800.

I honestly don’t need another bike right now, can’t really even ride the ones I have but I’m a sucker for a deal.
With my gen 1, I don't have range issues, but I do not do long back country rides. Mostly local trails. I wish I had the easy path to T-type that Gen 2 has, but in reality, mechanical drivetrain has served me well. I honestly have no regrets with my gen 1

What do you mean easy path to T-Type? cost?

There is no real benefit to have apple find, lock, alarm on an emtb. It is not like you are going to lock a 12k mountain bike to a city to a stake.
It can mitigate in some situation ... but this is very limited, and if they go to my garage well ... there is already an alarm on my house.
i already has a customer who had his stolen bike back 3h after it was stolen, so no, you are wrong

Gen1 has UDH, yes, the issue is the crank/chain ring. To upgrade to t-type, you have to change those to a t-type compatible set up, and there are no inexpensive ways to do so. There are some posts back here that discuss that as well. Wild, right?

I‘ve got. a new update for my ksl suspension and it‘s a very good match. the guys from push did a really good job. the torsion is no problem . It feels much better than the Fox 38. and it looks great .

Any news about a KSL with a higher capacity battery or does the KSL line end up now?
I really like my KSL but the Slash + and Decoy SN are tempting, though not really my dream ebikes - Slash + geo on the shorter side for a L, Decoy SN small battery.

Not heard anything, but seems likely that the next KSL will have a totally new motor/battery setup. Surely Spech have squeezed as much out of this one as they can.

I’d bet that next on the cards is a new FF Levo, then new KSL fall 2025.

The pack would be approximately 6mm wider, 3mm thicker, 65mm longer and 500g heavier.

If we look at the recent Trek Slash with 580wh, I bet Specialized can do the same which would give us a killer bike.

Would they? Not sure, and it also depend heavily on brose and where they are at the moment.

A kenevo with 580wh + lighter battery (?) + optional extender might be a sweet spot for tons of people.

so the free drive of my motor was already fucked after not even 700km. took specialized 2 1/2 weeks to send a new motor (i' a shop employee). not a turn around time to be proud off...

Needs dual crowns.

now then, on that subject........

she might have bought a Commencal FRS that coincidentally has Ohlins DH38 forks (twincrown naturally) amongst other nice items specc'd 🤷‍♂️
also reduced to € 3.750 so no more expensive than buying the suspension & whelset

obviously it has a missing motor so when she decides it's too much hard work it could become a donor😜

FYI my comparison between Kenevo SL1 and Slash+. Still cannot believe it:

Yesterday I rode Slash+ 9.7. Amazing bike on decents, and would be even better with top-tier front fork and enduro/DH tires. The biggest/only disapointment comes from the motor:

- 450m of climbs in turbo mode - flawless, ca. 300W distribution
- 5 min decent
- during next 200m of climbs power started to fade away gradually down to 200W after 400m of climbing.
- 10min decent, started to climb, all comes back to normal, with similar issue repeating after 300m of climbing
- when eco mode was used for 5 min, the motor could generate max power but I decided to keep it on 2nd mode until the peak.

To sum up, the turbo mode shall be used occacsionaly otherwise the motor overheats. The ride was in 10-15 degrees Celsius.

I would not sleep if today I didn't do this comparison immediately. Same conditions, same ascents. On Kenevo SL 1.1 + extender (480wh total) I did today 1450m of climbs with 11% battery left. 100% on Turbo i.e. ~290w. I probably would do the same ascents as on Slash but it got dark and Spec was not cutting down the power to 200w like Trek did due to overheating.

SUMMARY
Old Kenevo SL would do the same meters up with 480wh vs. 580wh on Trek.
It doesn't overheat even at 500m climbs whereas Trek cut down the power from 200m up. Eventually I was quicker by 1 min on a 20-22min climb on Kenevo.
