I took my KSL out for the first ride today and loved it. The only thing is I don’t seem to have got the same range as a lot of people on here. I did 12 miles, mostly in trail, about 2700ft of climbing and only had 10% battery left. I weigh about 85kg. Does that sound right?

Depends. That’s quite a lot of vertical in a short distance, so you were probably working the motor pretty hard. I except to get more like 3500ft/18-20miles and have 20% left, so yours is low but not crazy low.

This mostly depends how fit you are and how much effort you put in. Next time I’m out, I’ll try and do a similar distance/climb and see what mine manages.

Thank you, really appreciate that. I’ve got a pretty good level of fitness. I did notice the battery dropped by 15% in the first 2 miles, which is flat. I had it in the factory set trail mode.

What's your mode settings? I have for example Eco 30/40 Trail 40/60 Turbo 80/100
And got easily 60-70 km riding mostly Eco.

But it's worth fully charging the battery a few times to calibrate cells.

PS. My consumption is about 1.2 Wh per km

It’s on factory at the minute so 35/35, 75/80 and 100/80.

No. It feels like a normal bike with the motor off 😂

20/20 feels like a bit of assistance

1100m I get with Turbo 100% set 100/100

Generally I find these settings work best for me (very fit guy with FTP-380W)
- Eco 15/100
- Trail 30/100
- Turbo 100/100

It gives very linear distribution of power from the motor.
My ftp is only about 280 so probably have to modify the assistance a bit. I think I’ve got a good feel for it now. I appreciate everyone’s replies. It’s really helped

I’d probably disagree with that.

Hah! One of the things I love about the ksl is you can turn the motor off and it pedals like a normal (heavy) bike. If I’m riding with people on regular mtb’s, I quite often turn the assist off.

I ran out of time to test this morning, but did 6.8miles and 1056ft climb in 54mins. All the climbs in turbo and I used 33% battery. Can’t remember what my turbo is set on.

If you double those figures or even tripled as you only used 33%, that’s pretty impressive in turbo. I’d be more than happy with that. When/if you get 2 minutes do you mind sharing your settings?

I just connected the new app and it says defaults, but I’m sure I’ve turned it down previously and this app just reset it to the defaults. I’ll see if I can find it in my chat, I’m sure @Doomanic told me his settings and I used the same.

Don't think it was me, I'm currently running standard settings and only tried Turbo at 80% for a couple of rides before reverting to 100%.
I did 30km and 863m on 100% battery (RE fitted) last weekend on a mix of mostly Eco and Trail but with a bit of Turbo for a couple of climbs.

Sorry! I feel responsible for you losing your settings

Hey KSL Fans.

I have a V1 KSL and want to put a 27.5 on the rear - just wondered what adjustments / linkage positions I should make to make the most of the mullet setup?

I'm too stupid to work out the ideal / base changes I should do.

Thanks in advance.

I run mine with the flip chip in high and the headset in +1 with a Fox 38 fork.

Yo!
My MX setup is "High" position flip chip, +1° headset cups and...155mm cranks!

Flipchip high.
Headset cups middle, as thats all ive got.
Fox40 with an a2c on 595mm. I will be chopping this down to 582mm over winter.
Stock 170mm cranks. It looks like you can buy praxis at 165mm and 160mm. Ill probably try 165mm at some point in the future. I never got on with 155mm on my full power, so wary to try the 160mm.
