I had a weird problem today on my Levo. I use a Garmin 830 paired to the Levo ANT+ sensors. Today the speed reported by the Garmin was pretty consistent nonsense, reporting 15.5 to 16.0 mph regardless of my actual speed (I was climbing at ~4-8mph). This never happened before.

I tried rebooting the Garmin, power cycling the Levo, deleting and re-pairing the sensor. Sometimes it would report the correct speed temporarily but quickly it jumped back to 16 or so. Nothing worked. I even tried manually setting my wheel circumference to 750mm. The last one brought the speed down, but then it remained at ~5mph even when I was going much faster. Pretty stumped trying to figure out what's going on. Has this happened to anyone?

Nice video. Only I wonder what‚s up with the engine noise of the Turbo Levo?
I have driven from the S-Works to the Expert several bikes now.
On straight road (asphalt) barely audible. If it goes on the trails uphill, whether 100er engine, or 200er engine, just loud yelp.
Lt. Specialized Homepage: https://specializedeuropebvhelp.zendesk.com/hc/de/articles/360012264293-Motorengeräusch-Levo-MY19
They say, quote: "After thorough testing and analysis, we have found that a small percentage of 2.1 engines is irregularly loud. When riding under higher loads, affected engines develop a loud "howl". This sound is significantly louder and more aggressive - in short, it is quite different from the typical sound of our engines. The difference is most obvious at cadences between 80-100 rpm, especially in steep climbs. "
I wonder after they deleted the linked video for comparison()
how to compare there still?!
It would have been nice if you had presented the typical engine sound in the video, as only the downhill quality of the bike to show.
What is the typical sound of the turbo levo engines coming from brose?!

My motor on turbo and a lot of climbing, get really loud with some serious vibrations. I will keep to see how much it will last until is tottaly broken. I believe they are making improvements on the present 2.1 motor...

Once my original motor started getting loud it would keep getting louder. The 2nd motor was loud from the start. 3rd motor is always quiet (i made a recording of how quiet it is in case i need to prove it to my LBS in the future)
That's great to hear. Apparently you have a similar ordeal, only with a positive end.
Would you mind posting a sound file of the supposedly quiet engine under load, higher cadence for comparison?
Another question about the engine itself. You write that the engine is from 10/21, is it a 100 engine, or the latest version, a 200 engine?

Oh, I thought the video was from you😲
In the video you can hear very briefly, between 4:34 and 4:35 in my opinion the typical sound of the Brose motor under load in the field, quiet is different.
Unfortunately, the Video linked by ROB and used for comparison by Specialized is no longer available.
Yes it was the 2019 engine, but I think the engine sound has not really changed, so my experience with five engines from the turbo levo Gen3.

What about the new design charging door for the Gen 3 bikes? Any news from this? Mine is almost broken...
I've not heard anything, I put my bike in for a new motor, door was held on with the gaffer tape trick , LBS ordered a new one and I got the whole rock guard/door so all good , I'll be getting out the gaffer tape soon though 😂

Finally got to ride mine home today. What a great bike. Granted it was just inner city walking trails but all uphill and with some good wind blowing.

One thing I noticed that’s out of whack is one of the bolts that holds the mud guard over the swingarm gap appears to be cross threaded. The bolt will not seat against the guard, it feels like it bottoms out early. Looks like I need a new ICR motor cable guide per the schematics. Thanks for hosting that! Will make it much easier to show the LBS.

It’s the latest engine. Loud motor would sound like an SL or worse.

Thank you for your feedback.
But it would be really interesting, certainly not only for me, to hear how quiet a Brose motor of the latest generation is supposed to be. By the way, the motor in my Turbo Levo is also from 10/2021, latest generation(200) and not at all quiet. So it can not be due to the production month😉
Certainly, the sound of the engine also depends on the weight of the rider, the cadence, which mode of assistance was selected and the slope in the terrain.

It would be great if someone would do a recording without advertising drum stir, and compare in a video the current model with the actual brose engine showing a faulty vs. normal sound.
That would be an added value.
It does not really make sense, if someone writes, my engine is quiet or loud, without having an acoustic evidence.

I rode my new 2022 Home yesterday for the first time. My is really quiet. Granted there was a lot of wind noise in my ears but I couldn’t hear mine at all.

I finds my drop post won't drop when I press the lever on the '22 Comp Alloy (X-Fusion Manic). It will eventually after several attempts. Will the barrel adjuster help there? Any other tips or should it 'just work'?

Yep, that did it.

Sorry if already posted, but I spent 20 minutes looking through the previous 60+ pages of this thread and couldn't find what I'm looking for -- though I know it's in there somewhere. Was just wondering if someone could share the conventional wisdom on recommended settings for a 2022 gen 3 Levo comp spec. Looking for setup for 170-175 pound guy. Also, does anyone know how many spacers are in the fork? Feels like I need to add one for more progression, but, again, curious what the hive mind recommends. Also curious what the consensus is for head tube angle settings and chainstays high or low? Many thanks in advance.

Can select your bike and enter rider details to get a baseline for suspension settings here; Suspension Calculator App | Specialized.com

Thank you. I appreciate that, but the calculator gives a recommended baseline, where I'm hoping for more specifics from those who have dialed in their bikes for more aggressive riding (especially from middle weight folks like myself -- 175ish pounds). Here are my specific questions:

1) Are you finding Specialized's recommended PSI is pretty close?
2) Have most folks found the need to add or reduce volume spacers in the fork and/or tokens in the shock?
3) What geo settings are you using and what have you found works best for your riding?

Hello everyone, When IU bought my bike, my LBS told me he did some tweaks on the motor app (I hope/i guess), changing wheel size in order to have a faster bike (26 or 27 km/h from the top of my head). I would like to reset everything, but I can't find anything on Mission Control to do it. Is it possible?
Can we find default settings somewhere?

In Mission Control, above the slider settings, there's normally a button marked "preset" - this should set everything back to factory.

I don't know if mine is the new model you mention, as I have the hobo version of Levo: the alloy one. It's TCU 1 inside. I'm not able to change wheelsize, but what about LBS? Mine is 2000 right now (29 front, 27,5 rear).

Yhanks fro your reply. In fact, it doesn't affect some preset like accelearation response, for example. So it's not really a full reset.

My bike is new this week from the LBS, a 22 Alloy Comp. My wheel size is set to 2000 as well.

I have a turbo levo expert carbon with tcu2 and in my bike is not possible to change the parameter

I've had my 2022 levo S works for about two months and my LBS was able to change the setting of wheel size to prevent repeatedly bumping up against the speed limiter when riding uphill in Turbo at race pace on our trails. Yours should be able to also. Now I never hit the speed limiter climbing fast, and commuting on the road is much easier with a higher speed limit setting.

This! This is exactly what my LBS told me. It's nice from him, but I really want to have the "default" settings instead of tweaked motor. I will try to call him next week.

I’m in Canada so my limit is 32km/h. It’s fine for me uphill.

Been 6 months or so since I last posted! The reason is this bike is just effing amazing. So far no major problems apart from battery door x2 and fox x2 shat it’s self but fox upgraded me as they had no spares.
I’ve owned a lot of bikes over the last few years and few eebs now and I funnaly find myself not looking for anything else. If your on the fence, don’t hesitate!

First post. Been a lurker for awhile.

Probably purchasing a 2022 Turbo Levo Comp Alloy in the next week. The Warden needs to sign off.

The motor really bothers me when dropping this kind of coin on a bike but it is what it is and under warranty.

I went to a specialized company store and spoke with a guy about the types of repairs they were seeing. He gave me a sales pitch and literally on the floor behind the counter were boxes of Borse motors. LOL what are those for?

Thanks for all the information. I'll probably put carbon bars on and maybe put a 36T chainring on to start.

To be honest, the last version seems a lot of more reliable than the previous one. They really improve the weaknesses of this motor. But you will probably have the same fear with others brands too.
