If they're the same as the 2020 levo fsr then you're looking at 2235g front and back. I changed the wheels, tyres and tubeless, it took 1.5kg off and it was a different bike. Could actually get the front wheel up.
I think best changes for weight weenie will be wheels, tyres and that NX cassette.

X01 Cassette alone drops 250g

Heck with a GX or better cassette a decent wheelset (even aluminum), you could add XC cushcore and still be lower than stock weight wise.

I am weirdly excited to hear reports of the stock wheelset being incredibly heavy :)

I’d really like to know that too. @p3eps and @73Steff while you guys are upgrading stuff would you get a chance to weigh?

I’ve got the carbon Roval wheels with the Expert. I have the front with no tyre on it at the moment.

1.12kg with the SRAM 203mm brake rotor attached.
Mine are listed as 1800g for the pair on Specialized website - which is a 29 x 30mm inner diameter wheel. 30mm wheels are classed as Fattie now - whereas my 27.5 x 38mm were Fattie 3 years ago!

You can get 29 x 25mm Roval’s at 1360g for the pair. I’m sure other manufacturer’s do a lighter wheel though.

Looks like there’s around 500g in rotating weight to be saved for wheels (and around 250g for cassette) without even resorting to XC wheels.

I putting a spreadsheet together with all these weights but the single biggest thing that jumps out at me is the tube weight.....at 500+ for pair of tubes it’s a no brainer to swap over to tubeless especially as the tape is already fitted so simple job to swap valves and buy some sealant. (for full geek on I’ve weighed the valves & correct quantity of sealant??‍♂️)

Yeah but XO/11spd XT is still worse shifting than Zee/Deore and it's 3 or 4x the price. My entire drivetrain (shifter, mech, cassette, chain, chainring) is £78
Right around the same weight as yours too. But more durable.

What tyres did you go for?
I ordered the Specialized Butcher 29 x 2.6 for the front, and realised I’ve got the GRID and not the GRID TRAIL that I meant to. The non trail version is lighter than the 29 x 2.3 that came off it... 1036g vs 985g. The 29 x 2.3 non trail must be even lighter.

Does this build work our cheaper than an s works?

I cant see spesh ever doing a frame only option for ebikes. But if they did you could build way better bikes than their factory options and for less money.

As Gary has pointed out a 1x11 is light and cheap. Stick a 2019 pike and some carbon wheels on and you are good to go.

Now just need it in 27.5 and then it really would be a nimble trail bike.

Haven’t weighed both wheels but rear Roval alloy wheel with NX 12spd cassette below, no tyre tube. Can do the other/both tomorrow if needed.

Wow, about 1300g for the rear wheelset? So both front and rear are what, 2,400+? That's a heavy wheelset! I think I'll be replacing them with a set of Industry 9 Enduro S Hydra's at 1,900g.

I got the carbon comp and doing upgrades to AXS rear derailleur and seatpost. Upgrading the cockpit to carbon bars and stem, XTR brakes, maybe even a lightweight cassette, as that would drop half a pound or more.
the guide r brakes is super light 256gr, with trickstuff brake pads they works??Axs is heavy! I go with 12speed shimano rear mech, xx1trigger, xx1chain and x01 casette. Rf bar lizard grips. Lb wheels 1830gr butcher/purgatory bliss2 2.6 tire and xtr xc pedals

For me, yes because I got all the components from my other bike.

Didn't realise there was no many lol. Rock razor. I lost over 1.5kg doing wheels, tyres, tubeless.

I don’t think Rock Razor is going to be much use in muddy Scotland! Magic Mary and Eddy Current would be a better choice for mainly muddy trails.

I already have carbon wheels (Traverse - not SL) so they’re a good bit lighter than the standard, but about ~250g off the SL’s. I’m not going to spend another £1500 for 250g.

I also don’t want to get too fixated on weight. It’d be nice to shed a little, but I don’t want to compromise performance. I want good brakes (Magura MT7’s on their way) and want to use the SRAM AXS / Reverb AXS. There are lighter out there, but I’d rather have the components I want and put up with a little extra weight. Still contemplating a replacement fork... but will stick with stock for a while.

Removing tubes, changing tyres, carbon stem / bars, light pedals all should help - and it’ll still be 4.5 - 5kgs lighter than my Rail was at over 22.5kgs.
