So I just ended up holding down the +/- buttons for 45sec as the manual said to factory reset it. That worked to get it back up and running. Still curious why it happened in the first place. Hopefully it's not an ongoing occurrence.

I have already had mine replaced under warranty for that issue once and am waiting to get it replaced again. On both of our Levo SLs, there is no side-side play at all. Mine only got worse over time. Bearings on a shaft should not move side to side unless something has shifted as they should be press fit on. If its not the bearing on the shaft, it is the bearing housing that is allowing the bearing to shift side to side which could mean the bearing's outer casing may be spinning in there as well. I am sending mine in for the second time for the same issue. I wonder how many other KSL or LSL have the same side to side movement in this area?

Turns out Specialized's new policy is to add shims to remove any side to side movement in the motor's BB. Only time will tell now. I am guessing this is not a common complaint and I am one of the unfortunate ones to have it happen twice now?

Hey all, I picked up a second hand S3 Kenevo SL a few days ago, I haven't managed to ride it yet as the rain has not stopped!
When the stock seatpost is extended it is a touch (I would guess 10mm ish) too high for my 30inch inseam, I have a 31.6mm dia 160mm bike yoke revieve which I am thinking of trying, I just need to get a shim. I read in this thread some talk of getting a bit more insertion with a 31.6mm . . . . Has anyone actually done this? If yes how much extra insertion can you safely eek out?
I think I would need approx 18mm more insertion than a 34.9m dia post for it to work for me
Failing that I will have to go with the tried and tested solution too all issues, a 150mm 1Up . . . .

Doesn't Bikeyoke have a longer stack? The part that goes inside the seat tube. So it doesn't help.
Maybe 150 mm Oneup is your choice?
It has been discussed a lot here, so search is your help.

It does have a very slightly longer insertion yes, and 10mm more drop, but it is 31.6mm dia so may get a bit more insertion than a 34.9mm dia post. I have read all that has been written here on droppers, the 1up 150 will 100% work, but that is an expensive solution if I can make my old dropper fit.
My question is around using a 31.6mm dia post and a shim, and specifically if anyone has done it, and how much extra insertion can be achieved vs a 34.9mm dia post?
I will test this out myself in a week or so and report back if nobody has an answer

I was just informed that adding shims to repair the side to side motion in the BB of the motor does not correct the problem and will in fact, require a full motor replacement. It took 3 weeks for Specialized to authorize the shim method. The clock has started to see how long it will take to get a full motor replacement in Canada.

i've had my kenevo SL expert carbon for 3 weeks now and I noticed this problem about a week ago.
I called the shop where I bought it and have a service scheduled for the next week. I will insist that they replace the electromotor. This should not be "solved" with some washers as I think that is a faulty design.

I’m at 3 weeks since the shop (NVan) submitted my claim.

Still nothing. As long as it gets sorted, and I can still ride, I’m not too concerned.

I feel your pain as this is my third motor replacement. Last time it was 6 weeks of prime riding.
Your cranks move side to side and you are not concerned? It all depends on where you ride and the type of trails you ride on. The fact that there is movement in a shaft that could potentially lock up at some inopportune time (coming off the lip of a 20 foot gap jump at Whistler) and landing with the pedals at the 12 and 6 o'clock position gives me at least some concern!

Maybe I am being a tad paranoid but Its a motor with gear reduction and several other moving parts which could fail. Do you have any links that explain what the movement actually is? I doubt Specialized would warranty it if they did not have some liability concerns about the side to side movement.

I run a 170mm axs reverb on a S4 KSL and I’m 6ft/1.83m.

Thanks for the response. I was looking at the specs for both droppers and it seems the reverb axs would work on mine as well. I’m 6’1”.

I've felt for a while that I sometimes need a higher gear but since I've gone mullett I'm struggling to keep up with the peddling ;-) so I'm thinking about going to a 36T chainring and wondering if this might cause any issues with the frame or the chain guide ?

Hi all, How are you carrying a spare tube on this bike?

I have a Tubolito, 2 CO2’s, Wolf Tooth Pack Pliers with 2 quick links, and a Wolf Tooth chain + tire plug tool all stashed in the small space underneath the rock guard. I have them all individually wrapped in cellophane to keep them dry.

On my second ride tonight (40 miles total from new) a bolt fell out bumped into another kenevo rider on the hills whilst walking home and he said the same had happened to him and his son. Mmmm
