Has anyone had an issue with the battery connection coming loose?. I ask because it happened to me on the demo day i went to, the technicians were stuffing bits of carboard in as spacers. I was assured that the bikes they had were the first off the line and that later bikes had been altered.
Didn't put me off though, expecting mine soon.

You pretty much answered yourself, but no, no issue with that at all. Love this bike more every day.

Hey no problem, just helping out the community here, the one in your link is aluminum and is for regular mtb use(just 55g weight).

For ebike use and the DT Swiss hybrid wheels you need a stronger full steel driver(137g weight for comparison).

Also u need to be careful which system you want the Dt Swiss ratchet or the classic 3 pawl design, u need the one your rear hub uses. If in doubt best ask Canyon and Dt Swiss.

I asked that rearhub and freehub driver body type from Canyon but haven’t got response.

Seems that I need to wait my Strive:ON CFR to arrive (hopefully during this week) and find out serial number from DT Swiss HX1700 wheel. DT Swiss online product support can confirm type and spareparts with wheel serial number.

Went out again yesterday, didn't start well,after about a minute of the 1st run i got a slash in the side wall of the rear tyre,instant flat,wouldn't seal,so had to put a tube in,but these things happen,there is a lot of flint type rock around on certain runs at my local.
Rest of the ride was great, bike is great to ride,very planted downhill,definitely inspires confidence, the Zeb & the Super deluxe Rct2 are very plush they feel a lot more supple than my fox set up on the Bronson, although newness will have a little effect on that.
All in all super happy that I decided on this bike it really is a superb machine.
It has developed an annoying carbon creak that I'll need to chase down,but that's often the case with carbon bikes.
I'm off to Chatel with the Bronson early July, so might leave it with my lbs that week to find the creak

Apparently seat post can often be the culprit. Maybe try chucking some extra assembly paste on that?

Nice one,thanks for that,hopefully save me some time,it's always the same with a creak,the sound echos around the frame so it's a pain trying to locate it.
I was pouring water over various contact points throughout the ride,but to no avail.

I'd be bringing this up directly with Canyon before getting advice or making any home remedies. A bike this new is still well within the warranty and responsibility of the brand

Check the rims are dished correctly. Do you have equal spacing to both fork legs and seatstays?

Hi!
I'm a bit picky with noises, and have noticed a small taktak noise (vey low volume) from the downtube (it is also felt very very lightly on the handlebars?
First I thought it had a loose front wheel/headset bearings... but now I supose it's the internal cables/battery.

Anyone with same issue?

Found that the DB8 have a little gap with the pads, but the headset bearings need a constant torque on the headcap.

Not sure if I understand your pictures. I more or less only see your tires. Is the rear frame aligned? Head tube straight? Fork straight?

Yes everything is fine with both fork legs and the searstay

Agree it’s most likely a wheel dish issue. I’ve encountered this with stock build wheels before and manufacturer reimbursed me to get it fixed up at the local shop.

Tires of course aren’t perfect either.

After one (very short) ride, headset just come loose.
I torqued down the steering cap, but it went loose after some riding.
Completly disassembled, and reeassembled the headset, and will try again if it maintains it's tightness.

first time with cables going trought headset, but first experience is not starting very well....

Any advice more than welcome!

The headset coming lose every time, was because the starnut was being pulled up.
Just flushed down, torqued the cap to remove the slack, torqued everything to spec, and it seems it's holding]

• Maxxis Assegai 3C MaxxGrip
• Width: 2,5"

Rear tire is:

• Maxxis Minion DHR II 3C MaxxTerra
• Width: 2.4"

So it's normal that the laser doesn't align itself.
Have you measured the gap between the front tire and the inner part of the fork stantions? it should be equal.
If it's not... then as all say it's the dishing of the front wheel.

Not sure if I’m seeing different to you guys but it looks like when the bike is plumb and vertical, one of the wheels is set at a different angle to the other. Assume if you put a level on the back wheel when it’s perfectly level, the front one will be an angle. Not dished evenly one way or the other but leaning over to one side is how it looks to me.

Are people wrapping or putting downtube protection on their bikes generally? I've never owned a carbon framed bike before and am worried about rocks flying up and chipping/cracking it. Or am I worrying about nothing here?

I've put Invisiframe on mine,ridewrap also do one.
might also put a downtube protector on as well,as a few others on here are doing,not sure yet,there are no specific ones for the Strive,they are a just generic downtube protector.
A page or 2 back there are links to a few different ones on amazon.

It depends on how fresh you want to keep the frame looking,all a wrap will do is keep it mostly free of the smaller scuffs & dings,anything more substantial than that & it'll go right through it,which I've done on a few bikes,not much you can do if you have a proper lie down in the undergrowth.
A downtube protector will definitely protect that area better as they are a thicker material, so bang for your buck a much better Investment, but arguably not the prettiest looking things.
No one wants to get even a scratch on their pride & joy,me included,but they are a tool to do a job,a very rough one at that & as such will get damaged.

Its about time someone invents a personal force field for around the bike & me so I can fall off whenever I want to & not worry about it

Rocky Mountain powerlpaly altitude down tube protection look good wider than the nuke proof that rob did use, but they only sell it as a kit with the engine protection also.
Maybe I'm going to design one and then 3D print it.

I switched straight to Schwalbe tires. Both at 2.5.
Gap between the front tire and the inner part of the fork stantions is equal.

Well I’m sick of procrastinating so I’ve ordered a medium underdog with the 750w battery. Ticks all the boxes and I think it looks stunning in Matt black. I’ll probably stick an xt derailleur on and some hope brakes on over the coming months but happy with the rest of the spec. Just hope I can get used to riding with a bike set to eu speed limit after 3100 miles on a Shimano set to USA 20mph cut off?!

The limit sucks
