I don't think there is any difference in the motor except software?
Better off to get a performance line CX and derestrict it.
My non smart gen 4 has been derestrict without a limit for many a fast mile.
I should add that with the slight changes I have made the head tube angle is now 66* and if I where to extend the fork to 140mm it would be at 65*, although the seat tube angle is getting slack, currently at 73*.
I feel ya! I think a nice slack enduro Ebike would do well, especially with the new Bosch SX motor.
I purchased a 2020 Mondraker Prime as it covers nearly everything I can throw at it, which also included towing a kids buggy behind it on epic.
The mondraker caught my attention as it was a...
Nice one @Zimmerframe !
Do the same test on the same bike, assuming the wheels are all the same hub spacing. remember you don't need brakes if the discs don't match so no excuses!
Not knowing the different tyre sizes, run them at the same pressure, or the mathematical equivalent as per size...
Your bike sounds perfect for your riding style!
Most people are definitely 'over biked' on the trails.
I recently upgraded to a Pike Ultimate 120mm on my hardtail, it was a noticeable upgrade to the low-end RS Judy it came with, I may upgrade it to 140mm but it serves my purpose for 90% of...
Helicoil works great on cranks, I have done it before and you can get a set just for this.
A helicoil repair is also stronger than the original aluminium thread.
Or buy an alloy crankset, no need for carbon on a shed banger.
Being in the wrong gear and pedalling hard in the two lowest cogs will wear it quickly and make it skip.
This is due to the extra force applied from the motor assist.
You can't be slack on the gears just because the assistance is there. This is a common fault when people transition to Ebikes...
Google 15 x 110 quick release axle, they are common. Suntour the brand of your fork do one called Qloc.

We all know that the motor disengages, but people seem to not realise that the larger bearings, seals, heavy axle and extra weight of the 'clutch' mechanism are all extra rotational friction. So, compared to an acoustic bike, YES, there is more resistance when pedalling an e-bike when it is off...
This comes up from time to time and is often a loose crank. I have experienced this and it took me a time to diagnose. Make sure the cranks are torqued to spec.
Farkenell... That's some proper distance, I get nowhere near that on my Bosch Performance CX.
Is that pedalling the whole time or mainly on the throttle?
Hub motors are efficient!

it takes 90mins riding in limp home mode to clear. After the 3rd time it's off to the dealer.
It has happened to me at work, I pedaled around in circles for a while then rode home, note that after 90mins you have to turn the bike off then...
Linkglide is hard to beat on an Ebike for the non-pros, it's cheap, burly, shifts clean and purpose-built.
Sure, if you are competing, weight matters and you are going a lot more maintenance anyway and prefer a known/tried and tested drivetrain then HG+.
Combine Linkglide with a proper wax and...
I have always found it entertaining the argument that motors provide little or no resistance. Then people say take off the chain and spin the cranks to prove that there is no resistance, have you ever done that? It proves just how much resistance there is!
The more/faster you spin them the more...
