my 2018 motor died around 1200km, battery also died same time, both covered under warranty. Sold the bike..currently using a 2019 levo..almost 600km. flawless so far..but it seems to have a issue with heat retention...it cant take full on turbo blasts of more than 20-30min intense...
been tubeless last 7-8 years...ride 2-3 times a week...no punctures. its a 5min job to refill sealant if the tires a bit low ( just pick it up and shake it...if no sloshing..its low).
No one i know uses tubes in years. Our last DH trip to chiangmai (gnarliest trails in my region), out of group...
i ride with 2 groups
group 1, majority ebikes, minority manuals. We start togther, and set a meet point X time. We know the trails well enuff that the ebikes would be able to so 2x, 3x the loop and end up meeting the manuals at the meet up point. we then set off together again...and arrange the...
i like my bike alot more on 27.5, but make sure you
- flipchip to high mode
- raise your stem
- increase front sus if possible (im using a pike with 160mm spring)
Im on Santa Cruz Reserve, with DHF 2.5/DHR 2.4, pic shows original butcher 29ner
I prefer carbon bikes myself. But you can get the comp, and sell the 700wh battery for a fair bit and swap to a 500wh, if your rides are only 2-3hours. i did that, its a 700grm saving
yea, i had a ohlins TTX coil on my previous 18 sworks Levo, it changed the bike completely. In fact, my entire group has coils on the 18 levo.
But with the longer rear travel on the 19 levo, I didnt feel the need for a coil. so i kept the stock shock
Renthal fatbar 760mm
Renthal Stem
Santa Cruz Reserve wheel set - 27.5
Ti bolts for stem/headset/calipers etc
500wh battery from base model
Praxis Carbon levo cranks
Fork and shock is still stock, but i added a 160mm airspring to my pike to make up for the drop in HA switching to 27.5
swap out your cranks for the praxis carbons, its another 100grms. Since you already have the fatbar, get the renthal stem, more savings there
My 2019 expert is at 20.5kg with Santa Cruz Reserve rims.
first ride will be this weekend. having said that..all the things i changed, i would have done so anyway...the weight reduction is a nice bonus.
My ride buddy and I use a car rack..lifting his 18 sworks, which is almost 2k heavier needs 2 of us...mine can be lifted solo. A 18 expert is almost...
Installed the SC reserve wheels as part of the weight dropping programme for my 2019 Expert. Total weight saved
is now 1.5kg vs OEM
The reserve wheels/tires contributed 500grms
Will be installing the 160mm air spring to bring the bike back up
I had a 2018 sworks and currently on a 2019 expert. The 2018 did it all the time, and like you said, extremely frustrating and dangerous on narrow, technical areas...where im trying to trackstand or to balance...
0-500km milege...it happened rarely, 500-1000km, it started happening more...
