Plus one for this setup, amazing, lights. The sixpack has really great features. They are at the upper end cost wise, I don't regret buying, but I think there are lights available that are just as bright for less money
If you're wanting to do some serious nighttime trail riding, get the brightest you can get for your budget. Some of the brightest lights available will allow you ride as if it was daylight . Recommend also running both a helmet light and a bar mounted one

The fork is a bit lighter on the 9 as well. I'm really not loving the component spec on the 9.7, especially for the money. You'd really have to want the carbon frame to buy it, and be prepared to spend further to upgrade it over time
I have a 185mm Bike Yoke dropper, and there's easily enough room to run it fully slammed on my Rail 7, large. Don't know if there is any significant difference between the carbon and alloy frames
Given the short supply of bikes, and that prices are likely to rise....if you really want one, it would be a shame to miss out, or pay a higher price for one later on. I know what you mean about that colourway, but I don't think it would put me off buying one if it was all I could get
@Stengis40 Welcome! There is no rubber seal (I have the Trek Rail 7). The frame is designed so that water will drain out the bottom as long as the bike is standing upright. The motor is a sealed, waterproof unit, as is the battery. Where the wiring connects to the motor, weather-proof plugs with...
@Hgian808 only difference I can see is that the 2020 bike (which I have) has Shimano MT520 brakes, and the 2021 model has M6120. Both are 4-piston brakes. The M6120 is a more premium brake, but the MT520 is still plenty powerful. I found the rotors very noisy though and was chasing my tail...
Whether the shifter is single click or allows for multiple shifts, it's never good practice to shift under load, on any bike, but especially on an e-bike, where the results can be more catastrophic, because of the extra torque involved. My bike has the Shimano 12sp, and it shifts beautifully...
Great! I got those bars in the recent sale ? just waiting for the stem to arrive.Yes I agree the Yari needs improvement, cheapest option seems to be upgrading it to Lyric spec. Eventually the only original part will be the frame itself! But tinkering and upgrading is part of the fun ?
I wouldn't say 94kg is heavy. I'm a similar weight. I think the frame of the Rail is pretty strong, but have you been hitting huge jumps? Is it possible you've bent the chain stays slightly?
@bluewater87 would you mind posting back to confirm whether you got the 36T ring to fit? Looks like quite minimal clearance with a 34 so I'm curious to see how you get on
