As I see around me, ebike owners feel entitled to derestrict their ebikes which - apart from being illegal - just fuels the negativity towards ebikes. It's a weird situation for me, other ebike owners think I'm crazy because I won't derestrict mine and 'ebike haters' don't believe me when I tell...
Generally, I like Ergon saddles and grips but this one is the usual 'ebike specific' marketing BS. On steep climbs, I need to slide forward on the saddle to keep the front on the ground so the 'rear ramp' becomes completely useless. SQlab saddles with their longer nose section make more sense...
GX11 speed cassette @3700km with two PC1110 chains and still going strong. I'm pretty 'light' on the drive train no shifting under load and my pedaling style is spinning - using all gears - rather than smashing.
Those issues are pretty common with SRAM brakes. Other than their sleek look I found them absolute rubbish but SRAM is pushing OEM hard and pretty much everything is coming with their brakes. You have to spend extra if you want proper brakes and I had to do it with two bikes that came Guide RS...
I have two bikes with SRAM shifters and Shimano brakes (Saint and SLX) and no issues with shifter and dropper lever placement.
Hoses are specific to the brakes and while you can make custom fittings but cannot mix anything between SRAM and Shimano. SRAM uses DOT fluid Shimano uses mineral so...
I’m also using neoprene cover for two years and it definitely helps. Without it I had ~30% less range @0 deg Celsius. Especially the last two bars dropped unbelievably quickly.
Yeah, I put a pair of standard M6 washers under the calipers when I got rid of the SRAM brakes and replaced them and the rotors with Shimano. They are 1,5mm thick and that's the difference between the radius of 200 and 203mm.
My Karcher holds 4-5 liter I think the Lidl is almost the same. It's good for me because I prefer portability (it fits under the seat) over 'on board' water storage and I have no problem with carrying two 5L water cans in the car if I'm going somewhere without a water source.
Tell me about it... I bought the Karcher OC3 then a couple of months later Lidl came out with this one for 1/3 of the price and you can even charge it from 12V. o_O They are both awesome but nothing justifies the price difference.
Absolutely... I found SLX components the 'sweet spot' when I want to spend the money wisely.
To me, it looks like manufacturers kind of gave up on the outrageously expensive EX1 and started to push the crappy Eagle on ebikes too.
They protect the fork stanchions 100% and less stuff is flying in your face...
For wet road riding, I put an extension with two zip ties and with that it's very effective.
Existing and commercially feasible are two different things. With current technology more capacity comes with a bigger size (weight) so a 650Wh might be squeezed into a 500Wh casing but it is ~30% heavier. New 22700 cells might be the new standard in the coming years (Tesla is using them) and...
Sorry to hear, although 'I told you so' when you asked for opinions before you ordered...
"I tried Wippermann Connex back in the days when I was running 10 speed. It was expensive (gold) with the shortest lifespan and noisy on the Shimano drivetrain.
The 'ebike specific' 99% of the times only...
For me, worrying too much about running cost went out on the window when I bought the ebike. :)
I found the 11-speed parts cheap and lasting long enough but I think they will be even cheaper especially since Eagle became the best thing after a slice of bread...
