Carbon Roval wheels seem to have alot of creaking in the front wheel. Kinda of checked the spokes seemed ok. Not a wheel expert. Has anyone else had a lot of trouble with wheel noises on the expert carbon wheels?

I haven’t had it on the Levo but i did have the problem on my Stumpy expert 19 .. the rear wheel was always making creaking noises .. on its 3rd ride the rear wheel collapsed ,. These are the Carbon wheels with cheap internals . I’ve heard other story’s too where they have had loads of spokes snap .

One thing that makes the bike feel light is faster rolling tyres. I'm using Specialized Fast Trak Grid 2.3", both weighing 720g on my scale which is bang on spec. The S-Works version is 595g. They naturally have a positive effect on range. For a mix of trail, gravel and tarmac in dryish condition they are really good and suited to the nimble character of the SL. Be aware it's a smaller tyre compared to the Butcher.

I have them on a 25mm 1550g wheelset (GX cassette, Shimano Ice tech rotors) which, compared to the stock tubed setup, dropped weight from 18.5kg to 16.9kg with pedals. Large Comp carbon. Going to be the primary wheelset for the summer season.

I've gone with WTB, Trail Boss up front and Ranger out back, both 29x2.4 and both in tan walls. Should be great in this bone dry weather and tooling about on my way to work ?

Continental RaceKing Performance Folding, 27.5 x 2.2, 630 g. The bike feels more lively and accelerates faster. Just don't take it down any muddy trails.

Has anyone experienced a rattle from their Fox 34 Factory fork? Mine rattles a bit unless it’s in the closed setting. Any advice on what to torque?

so far I’m not at all impressed with the Fox shocks. My rear shock is leaking oil. My last 3 mountain bikes had Rockshox - no issues in thousands of km of riding...

Hm see for me its been the opposite lately, I had a rockshox recon forks leaked, the oring just kept getting destroyed so idea why. Then got rockshox Yari and that too had issues, losing air and rebound adjustment didnt seem to do anything. Since changing to Fox 36 factory its been best forks ever had, smooth and just feels amazing.

Must of just got unlucky

YES crazy rattly since I owned it, until TODAY.

Sounded like the headset or fork rattling to bits. But I isolated it to the G2 caliper. All I did to fix it was spread the brake pad retaining spring a bit, to hold the pads well away from the disc. More or less totally solved it.

Interesting! I had wondered about the G2 pad springs, as they do rattle when tapped with my finger. None of my other SRAM brakes (Guide, Code, Red) do that.

So you undid the small screw at the top and removed the spring plate, widened it, then put it back?

Rode with a guy today for his 1st ride on his Levo SL comp Carbon. Beautiful bike. This guy can ride. Ex pro DH and XC back in the day. This is his 1st ebike. He had demo’d a Levo expert FF a bit. We did 3 hours mostly singletrack using eco/trail/turbo as some climbs so steep you need turbo or in my case boost (e8000). He was blown away at the overall workout he got and loves the bike. He came back with 2 out of 10 bars showing and I’d used 3.5 bars out of my 5. About 2k climbing and 20+ miles. The difference in power between my BMC speedfox and his was obviously apparent as I could completely drop him anywhere while I was in trail mode, especially the climbs with me in stock trail mode and him in boost, but I’m sure as he gets more used to the bike, he’ll get more efficient and faster on it. I kinda wanna try one out again but the power of of my Shimano motor is addicting so fast haha. Anyone on the fence about an SL, ride one it may blow you away. Seamless, quiet, nimble, and efficient.?

900 & 890 grams..... but who’s counting.....
FRONT TIREButcher, GRID TRAIL casing, GRIPTON® compound, 29x2.3"
REAR TIREEliminator, GRID TRAIL casing, GRIPTON® compound, 2Bliss Ready, 29x2.3"

I’ll be switching to racing ray and Ralph 625/595g once my other wheels get in for dry summer trails and my 18km ride to work on trails (about 1k on road) :) yes I’m bragging about my ride to work!!!

I actually weighed my tires when swapping tubeless

butcher grid trial 1040g
Eliminator grid trail 1016g

pretty big discrepancy

Did a 2 hour ride on Friday.
Me on Levo SL, @TheBikePilot on his full fat Levo, a Pivot Shuttle and 2 others on Cube Bosch gen4 bikes.

SL kept up, no issues riding in groups. They could have dropped me on climbs in Turbo easily, but on Trail / EMTB mode on the Bosch bikes, fairly matched on pace.

I was using my custom 35/100 mode. And a range extender.

We did 18 miles, 2900ft climbing. I used Range Extender in parallel but came back with 50% battery remaining.

Hey @Rob Hancill , can we split this thread into sub-forum threads? There are way too many topics in one thread. We are at 56 pages already. Some care about batt range: they should have their own sub-thread, then there are mechanical issues, weight questions, etc. It’s too confusing to have them all together.

Levo SL performance (all things performance)
Levo SL questions concerns (all things Q&c related)

would be cool.
Just start new threads within the Spesh section as you see fit.

Can I ask a question of other owners. Just went on a very slow potter with my wife who’s definitely not a cyclist. I therefore spent a lot of time free wheeling. I noticed that if I move the pedals back and forth by a couple of degrees there was an audible sound between a click and a clunk from the motor region. I take it that’s normal and simply the engagement mechanism for the motor?

if you could check when slowly freewheeling next time that would be great. Thanks!

I thought I had the same problem as you:

I spoke to silverfish (UK Fox repair shop) and they said to send them in as a warranty job, they serviced them and said no fault found. I now suspect that it is the guilde R caliper, if you take the caliper off and shake it you may hear the pads and spreader rattle, mine has about 1mm of moment around the pin which I am sure is the culprit. Like someone posted if you widen the spreader it helps however I still got the noise on today’s ride after a bit.

I am not that keen on the fox forks either after previously using Lyriks, however I despise the Guide R brakes even more. XT 4 pots being ordered this week.

I’ve got that rattle too. Definitely the pad clip.

Yes, exactly. Is was amazing how much noise it was making before.

@Bencab how many miles have you done in total. Must be more than most of us. I’m just coming up on a 1000 miles and still no issues to report. Still loving it.
I have not check but my guess is about 800 miles; as I still ride my other ebike and non-ebike. Same here, no issues so far and loving it as well.

Been trying to get a discount off a comp carbon, best so far is 10% off, my LBS whom I've known and bought bikes from for 25 years thinks I'm mad and that I should wait a few more months for the new bikes, not sure what to do now!

I can't think what they are going to do one year after launch to significantly improve the SL. So buy now and enjoy the ride.

The only thing waiting might give you is a discount. Everyone is short on stock at the moment = not much discounting. Maybe next year we'll be over-stocked and have a few more offers?

I think what he meant by waiting is other products and not the SL. He missed the shimano seminar thing so has no idea what's coming but there maybe more competition for the SL.???
