It's not about Newton meters, but about watts. But they increased the power output, too. So yeah, if you ride in turbo, it won't last as long as the old SL.
One watt is equal to 1 Newton-meter per second (Nm/s). You can multiply the amount of torque in Newton-meters by the rotational speed in order to find the power in watts.

The Levo 1 was top notch technology and ecstatic beside the phenomenal smart functions in those early days like ANT+, Smartphone App, configurable Support, supporting Legpower, motor silence etc.
My point: in 2023 a Levo 1 looks great. And the new SL looks great. Classic, not retro.
