Acid 160mm on:

I did not go for 155mm or 152mm, to avoid platform stability reduction and increased saddle height.

Can't find 160mm cranks for my 160tm anywhere at the moment. Everywhere is out of stock and lots of places don't ship to the UK anymore.
Don't know if you travel to Belgium a lot.
I can order another pair at bike-discount.de, you can come and pick them up here.

That’s very kind but I won’t be going to Belgium anytime soon. It’s the Brits fault who voted for Brexit. What a great idea that was to leave the EU.

I think if my goverments also kicks that EU out of our land, we both can start doing free business again in a normal way :)

I think you mean these:

Same weight, double price.
Am I missing something ?

Let's do some Hosing and Bleeding:

After all, it's the same as bleeding a car brake system.
Except on a bike you screw off the brake fluid container :)

I just noticed these shims while loosing the bolts of the caliper.
The use pattern on the disk is centered and OK, is this also mounted on your bikes too ?

(Dirty) Shiny Deore off, matte Shimano on:

I now have the "old" Deore front 4-pot system to put on the Rockrider one day.

Exactly like I wanted, matching with the other brake lever, and a shortened hose:

SL-MT800-IL I-SPEC EV, on the existing hose and cable, hose somewhat shortened:

The Zeb has a mount for 200mm (SRAM) Rotors, the shims are
for the 203mm Rotor.
I found the 203mm size strange from the beginning, seems to be 8", but their other sizes are 140,160,180 ?
Also did not know Sram is 200mm.

I did a first ride with the 160mm cranks.
You don't feel "hey these are shorter cranks", but during the ride I felt the bike behaved different.
A bit like slower reaction to pedal strokes.

I don't know if that's a real thing or just imaginary, we'll see if I get used to it.

This Ergo Fit Evo saddle comes with the E-st900, and was replaced with a thicker softer one because it's a hardtail.
The color seems to match the Cube, it's a bit longer, and a lot less Spartan than the Venec.

I think it must be one of these two:

I went back to the 165mm cranks, the 160mm cranks kept me giving an underpowered unresponding feeling, and the urge to go to Turbo.

The Bosch "Smart System" is not smart enough to output an ANT+ cadence signal to my Garmin.
So I found a nice spot for a cadence sensor:

Doesn't touch anything, well hidden. Except I don't trust the rubber string keeping it in place.

That's better:

Damn, was thinking of 155's to help avoid pedal strikes.
It helps, but doesn't avoid it completely if you are tired/lazy/clumsy/distracted
155 seems a good option to me for people who ride continuously in Emtb/Turbo
I'm an eco/tour rider most of the time.

What happens when you connect a light that consumes 1,66A (20W) to the 1.5A (18W) rated front-light-port of the motor?
So now and then, the assistance color suddenly switches to orange, and the Kiox displays an error.

Bike Off-On and everything is back to normal again.

Another light that consumes +-0.5A (6W) works fine on the 12V port.

What if you want to put the Bosch Kiox 300 Bracket on the left side of the stem,
for example to mount a Garmin Bracket, or a night light on the right ?
20220917_123027rs.jpg

There are holes for the connectors:
20220917_123051rs.jpg

But if you turn the quick release around, no holes on this side:
20220917_123100rs.jpg

So we make them:

What about the holes on the other side now? Did you plug them with something?
Of couse not. The original ones are also a lot larger than the watertight connectors.
No need to worry about this.

Some would even argue it's better now.
