When is there a big ebike seller, he ask Bafang to compile custom firmware and also will tell them what battery capacity they gonna use. Bafang will hardcode this and compile firmware.

Half of 250w is probably the sweet spot. Its the ramp up that makes it feels too much. I ramp it down to Level 1.

m560 can be tuned via besst pro and it's start smoother.

The M600 had greater than 250W as its initial boost unfortunately and then settled back to about 250W's. About around >60W's is the break point when riding with analogue riders as in you need a minimum of 60W's on the heavier bike + motor internal drag to keep up. 150W's is super trail friendly on flat paths with max distance.

Boom, and I will add, you wont do anything with this on M600. It is all here hardcoded.
Sorry i had to say it . The m600 is terrible engine . After 2engine broke (torque sensor) i finally sold my 3 one .
So the bigest probleme for me was when you pedale in speed 1 ,you have a peak at 250 sometimes 350 wat it s very randon then go down to 80 watt . Witch make the bike riding in city very dangerous and dificult to controle . Even jumping the sidewalk was dangerous when you get the kick of 350 watt at the reception i can tell you better no one walk infront .
And soon as you stop pedalling and start pedal again the engine kick power again for a couple of second . SUPER ANOYING .
BTW i test all the firmware as possible on internet none of them solve the probleme .
The only thinks i like of the m600 it s super quiet .
So now i will have to make a decition to buy the m560 or the m510 .
The most important thinks for me is progressive and smooth powerat low speed .
like
Level1 50-140 watt progressive not sudenly
Level2 100- 230watt
level3 200-350watt
level 4 300-450watt
level5 400- Ful power
Witch one do you think it will feet the best ?

Yep, you wont find better firmware for M600. It was not a bad motor, just was not pre-set optimally. And all hardcoded.
If you looking for more power go for M560. Here you can set everything. Max power (so even max 50W at PAS 1), Sensitivity to pedalling (multiplication of pedalling power) and Acceleration (power ramp up time 0.25 to 2.5 s for smoother starts - of course I have set everything to level 8 - fastest starts
).

Hello Guga.
I am affraid it will never behave as Bosch or DJI.
I mean smooth support to pedalling.M560, has set default max power levels to 20,40,60,80,100% - which is Ok to me. I did lowered a little Assistance level % for me. And I put Acceleration to max. It is making more stress to drivetrain, but more fun. I dont like slow ramp up of power - at level 1 it is even 2.5 seconds.
Hello @Dado Please can you tell me where to get the firmware version I need? I borrowed a Bafang Besst tool from my friend but i'm assuming I need a local file to upload?
Also, is it possible to backup existing FW to revert back to if there are problems? And, will this work with my current display or is buying a new one essential?

Hello, do you know the maximum current (in amps) for the front light on the Bafang M560? I have a Supernova with 1.5 A consupcion and it works but i I wonder how much the maximum can be.

Hello Tom.
Yes, that update from cloud does not work in Besst. You need to have a bin file, find in M560 threads.
Not possible to get firmware from the controller over CAN bus - this routine is not defined. So if you wanna revert back you need to have that specific bin file. (Is possible to download and extract firmware file from the microcomputer after opening motor thoug).
Sure will work with your display. Does not matter about display.

Hello, Bafang did changed to 12v and 0.5A (was 6V and 0.5A) - so definitelly you not going full power with 1.5A light.
Get a DC/DC convertor and cable it directly to battery over a switch (to avoid discharging battery).
I ordered a frame kit (new thread incoming when I get it *spoiler:
*) with an M560 motor 750W. The seller sent me a photo and it looks like it has a 2.1 firmware. The seller is telling me that it is 750W especially configured for them even if the sticker shows 500W. It has the silver sticker and not the black one like I seen on some of the new stock but the numbers are like on on the black/new stock one. Should I trust the seller that it has the 750W firmware?

Thats right, HW is exactly the same, depends only what firmware you flash. And looks to me bafang has shortage in stickers. I think you can believe to seller, they will just update firmware before shipping (ask for a screenshot form display, under Controller info to make sure - and you would read from this if 500 or 750W and what firmware version they did flash ). But you right, it is kind of unlucky if sticker shows different parameters or voltage (not in this case). Or you can update by your own over K1 Flash. Lot of firmwares is coming with K1 - even custom for M560.
I been just testing yesterday firmware from Hybridizer v38.5 Test2 and there is slow start of throttle. Throttle has priority so when you pedalling and press a throttle it even brakes for a second or two (ramp up of power on a throttle)., quick shifting is not working well and also Eco level has a throttle speed limit to 32kmh. They could do this just because of stress on inside gear with a one way clutch (my died in 800km). So still the best "racing" firmware is original bafang v1.5 - throttle is here sharp.

BBR is good for battery management and to avoid power limitation with low battery % - yesterday went with BBR off as wanted to test how new firmware behaves and it was very annoying when I got only 400W with 20% of battery. Also for people who are not ok with 45kmh throttle.
Think about K1 Flash as with Besst is lot of problems.
