Lets just say weight matters in the sense how playful the bike feels in terms of how you can plant it on the trail. A heavy bike will simply feel more and more like a motorcycle. It can still be fast but it will turn the expierience more into a kind of monsterucking/straighlining expierience. It...
There are at least two versions of the 2.2 motor:
Drive S Mag, horizontal, E06855-100
Drive S Mag, horizontal, E06855-200
the first one is an older revision and then there are the software updates that should change to motor characteristic to make the motor stress the belt less. There might...
Mine was also advertised as 2023 model year but the frame sticker says it was produced 07/11/2022. With the new App Specialized also removed the option to see the motor version. Anybody know how to see which motor version it is through another app? Blevo maybe?
I think the 2022 base models (idk...
Absymal handling might be a bit much and reflect my riding ability/preference more. If you are a physically and technically very fit and good rider it might not matter that much on the right tracks. Like for plowing down gnarly straight line, high speed stuff that isn't too steep the weight...
Simplon is bankrupt and MGU bikes tend to be rather heavy. The Simplon is around 5kg heavier than the Amflow. The ride experience will be totally different. I don't really understand the approach of nicolai where the bike weighs 28 kg. That handling will be absymal.
Yeah, the technology gap will probably get closed with the new levo anyway. I'd rather not buy from a chinese company if I have the choice considering china is supporting russia to attack european democracies.
Do you have any statistics what the most common failure rate of the newest brose motors is? Like do most of them snap the belt after x amount of mileage or is it more varied or due to water ingress like you mentioned?
I remember two or three yeara ago before specialized did the small updates I...
Probably a mix of everything but there certainly must have happened something. I still occasionally read about a busted motor with the belt failing but the reports about multiple sbapped belts in a short timeframe seem to be a thing of the past (hopefully).
I never rode an old motor and I'm...
Compared to the Gen 4 Bosch bikes the Amflow is very light because the Gen 4 Bosch bikes all weighed 25 kg and more. But the weight isn't revolutionary considering with same spec its probably 0,5
I never used the full power of any ebike motor I had. I'm not interested in going fast uphill...
The weight isn't that revolutionary if you take the non-removeable battery into account. It probably also has a higher center of gravity than a bike with a removable battery because its long and thin and sits above the motor.
The prices pre corona where massively lower. They got inflated by the covid hype and unsustainable demand patterns.
The price point for high end bikes pre covid is the entry level price point now. Or at least that's what the manufacturers wanted to settle on. But now the market is saturated and...
Not really. The good handling of the levo is down to the motor being turned so that the battery can sit lower in the frame. A good looking long battery will make the handling on the trail worse.
Also it won't be the MGU in its current form as it would make the bike way too heavy.
The delays...
Wut? I think it looks pretty generic because of the 4 bar. There must be dozens of ebikes that have a similar frame and suspension design.
Plus its barely lighter while having a smaller, non-removable battery and less geometry tweak options.
Motor might be more reliable, efficient and...
Bosch only sells the complete system and doesn't allow custom batteries which is the reason many brands use shimano for their first ebike as Bosch also only deals with companies who buy the whole system and big numbers.
Exactly! From a weight and handling perspective large intube batteries are...
Yeah, I'd rather wait for a frame with the motor that has more travel. The 150 mm of the levo with the stock link is just barely enough for me and I'll switch to a cascade link over the winter I think.
Yeah, I fear the reliability problems of the Brose but as I'm no that heavy and never...
Well according to some reviews it rattles aswell plus I need the removable battery. If you take that into account the levo carbon isn't even that much heavier than the amflow. 1-2kg max. with the same parts I'm guessing. And I don't need the power as I'm a rather light rider.
Did you check it by moving the crank arms back and forth without a chain? You can also do it with the chain but might to have to roll the bike slowly forward. The current bosch also doesn't rattle equally in all frames but with this test you'll hear the freehub clicking.
