Levo Gen 3 Levo Gen 4 2024 Rumours... And assorted random chat ....

This site is probably not super reliable and how its written it could mean model year 2026 or indeed 2026, especially considering specialized branded their brose motors. So I think everything is kinda possible. Its a bit weird tho that they announced they will only announce the high end...

Apparently the first bikes with the brose will be available for customers in 2026. First bikes will be presented in june 2025. Didn't someone say the levo launch was postponed until may or easter 2025...

I fear is that they will have a non (quickly) removable battery to stay competitive and have a larger battery. This will shed between 0,5 and 1 kg. The ride feel is totally different. You can't do the same stuff on a dirtbike than on a mountainbike. Yes, you can ride most mtb trails with a...

You are probably starting the ride with full batteries after you didn't ride at least over night or for a few days/weeks but when you remoce the extender its more like a back to back comparison.

2kg is a lot. Obviously you won't notice it the more tame/straight line you ride. But the more aggressive you ride twisty/narrow stuff the more you will notice it. But I think it also depends on the rider weight and fitness how much he or she notices the weight of the bike. A very skilled and...

Levo Gen 3 Levo Gen 4 2024 Rumours... And assorted random chat ....

As of now there isn't a trend as all other manufacturers bikes have gotten heavier and heavier since intube batteries have taken over. The weights of some builds have become insane like 28 kg plus. Only Shimano full power bikes were light. And the Levo is first and foremost a mountainbike that...

I think the Amflow with the 800 wh battery is 21 kg or a tad more depending on frame size. It has heavier parts though to the top model could be close to 20 kg with the heavier battery. A removable battery will ad weight though. At least half a kg. And a 500-600wh battery is perfectly fine...

Other New Specialized Mission Control app

I used this one: https://apkcombo.com/fr/specialized-mission-control/com.specialized.turbo/download/phone-3.23.0-apk The newer version didn't work and directed me to the new app. You need an app like this to install it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wuliang.xapkinstaller

Yeah, if I would have known this app stuff I probably wouldn't have bought the Levo. At least some old apk version works for seeing the motor version.

Levo Gen 3 my turbo levo comp went for service - was told it showed up as an 2022 model?

Apparently there is also this version: E01680-200 has a completely new belt. Polymer plastic with Kevlar fibers from the supplier Dayco.

Yeah, I'd also say the sweetspot for handling vs range is a modular concept where you can carry something between 500 and 700 Wh plus range extender. So we will get some full power but with smaller batteries class and a full fat class for people that just want range and don't want to ride fast...

Levo Gen 3 Levo Gen 4 2024 Rumours... And assorted random chat ....

Yeah, with a 900wh battery the bikes handling would be compromised a lot compared to its competitors. The amflow is the future, at least if you want to ride trails.

It's a KTM. No idea what the spesh controller does there. I hope specialized gets rid of that useless turbo button.

The weight vs safety of a battery is also an important detail. Like chugging the cells inside without any or much protection would be light but unsafe. Removable batteries probably have to withstand tests where they fall from some height without combusting. So Amflow probably was rather...

Do you know which current Specialized batteries use the 21700 cell format? Only the 700 wh or also the 500? M2 and M3 seem to be identical apart from the rock guard. In general all lithium ion batteries will become unstable under stress when they are drained. Its not like a gas powered engine...

I'm not sure if there is a 'newest battery tech' that they could use compared to Amflow. The Amflow is mainly that light because the battery is non-removable. This makes it easier to design the battery itself lighter and the frame aswell. It shaves off between half a kilo and a kilo at least. So...

850 wh battery would mean its heavy and sluggish and/or have a really weird look to stash the battery low in the frame.
