There is certainly a SUV syndrome with many ebike people but the Amflow made the light assist bikes obsolete. Its the same weight with way more power than you need it. I dabbled with light assist but the torque numbers are misleading as the power output is way smaller because of the smaller...
Until the new bosch bikes dropped the carbon levo was the lightest full power emtb with a removable battery and non clacking motor in its class.
According to this test the s works levo is 22,1 kg with an 38 and 700 wh battery. With the 500 wh battery it would weigh just a tad more than the...
Anybody changed the bearings on their long shock link? How difficult is it and do I need special tools?
Especially the double bearings: can I push them out to one side or do I need to get a special tool to extract them from either side?
Would you go for enduro bearings as replacement bearings...
According to some guy on a german forum his dealer apparently told him that the presentation of the new levo will be delayed after easter 2025 and it will only be two high end models with the new brose motor which got a software update for 105 nm.
Sounds a bit weird that they would match the...
I just hope the gen4 has a removable battery and low weight. This would be a serious advantage over the amflow. I don't need the power. Current gen has more than enough for me.
Maybe the delay is due to the diij. Specialized aims to be the innovator and sells the best bikes money can buy with a premium price tag. Now they might have reshuffled parts and pricing to be competitive or are testing a higher power setting of the motor to be competitive.
I'm not sure if the pedal strikes are the issue here. Its probably more stress for the belt riding turbo uphill while being heavy on uneaven terrain. Because if it was just people having pedal strikes on trails there wouldn't have been so many failed motors. Most emtbs do not get ridden on...
The windscreen wiper story is a half-truth as in yes they built their first ebike motors with in part with parts from their automotive and garden tools factory. But that was over 15 years ago. Obviously nowadays the motors have not much in common with the motors from that area and became highly...
Yeah, interesting perspective apart from the fact that bosch has the most energy efficient full power motor in terms of range probably because they have the most experience with ebike motors. But their approach to integration and software reminds me of outdated german car industry product politics.
Yea, I've noticed many reviews lacked critical distance way more even if it were influencers. Like it came close to shilling the stuff openly.
Even worse than them doing the typical specialized, fox or Santa cruz review.
The non removable battery drops the weight considerably because all parts can be constructed more lightweight and many parts aren't needed. So comparing two bikes you always have to take that into the equation. It also depends how the battery is removed. Turning the motor and letting it slide...
Yeah, the weight isn't that revolutionary when you consider Levo Gen 3 weight with a removable 700 wh battery: 22,1 kg

Yeah, it would be certainly too strong for me too at 75 max ready to ride. I never even used close to full...
Electric motors are very efficient. So with similar assist the range is very similar. Its mainly down to how the bms is programmed to protect the battery and how good the quality of the cells are which can result that even two batteries of the same model provide different usable capacity...
Can you also comment on the rattle? In case you rode an e8000 bike compare it to that? Because from reviews I watched it seemed its kinda similar (not constantly rattling, just on rough sections).
From what im gathering from reviews and riding the levo it sounds like the Amflow kinematic is...
