I also didn't want to go the specialized route but its the only silent and relatively lightweight option for a full power ebike. I can't stand the rattle of the other motors. Plus the deals on current specialized models make them acceptable. Got my levo base carbon 2023 which I upgraded to...
There could be a few reasons for the delay. Certainly too much stock and maybe also the amflow bike. Maybe they redesigned some stuff to make it more competitive weight wise.
Yeah, if you spec the frames similar a levo with removable battery and no rattling whatsoever will be around 1 to 1,5 kg heavier than this. So if you don't need the power and like a removable battery and a silent bike its still not that attractive. I think I'll wait what the future holds...
Its not so much the center of gravity but more like the geometry changes. BB gets higher, seatangle and headangle get steeper which will effect the handling of the bike and might make it less capable in some situations. I really prefer the low bb setting to the high with the stock link. That's...
I have the problem of bottoming out my stock gen3 Levo with an X2 too easily and the rear and also doesn't feel as plus as my old 160 mm bike.
I'm a lighter rider and don't ride big jumps/drops. Mostly natural alpine hiking paths but also not too slow.
The easy/cheap solution would be to buy...
What did we miss?
I also don't really need the big battery but I think the rear suspension of the Levo is a limiting factor. I mean its intended as a trailbike and the kenevo is for the bigger stuff but 160 mm would be better suited for it because on slightly rougher stuff or jumps it blows...
The current brose is still the benchmark if you want the most silent motor. But it's still a bit unclear how much more reliable the motor got with the updates.
I know with shimano e8000 its even worse as its really slow so you have to shift down to get it fast enough and then up again to start riding in steep terrain. Specialized is better but sometimes it doesn't speed up for a few seconds and in other instances it is almost up to speed and a bit too...
I mean it also goes for regular bikes too. The years I rode dh and rode a week in mud in pds and pressure washed the bike at race weekend was the time I changed many bearings because they were rusty after every season.
I use the walk assist in alpine terrain extensively and although shimano solution isn't perfect its much more ergonomical. Idk if they have a patent on it but the walk assist feature as a whole is far from ideal on many systems.
Its also weird that the walk assist sometimes is really slow and...
The trick is to wash your ebike only when its absolutely necessary. Ebikes are not really suited for riding them in wet conditions all the time and then hosing them down with a pressure washer. People asking why the manufacturers simply don't make them more water resistant are forgetting that...
The ergonomics are just way worse than my shimano trigger which buttons I can assign so I can use it on either side. Why isn't this possibly which specialized? Who decided to waste a button on a useless turbo button that is not really reachable if you set it up to reach the plus and minus...
Thanks for the tip! While riding I didn't notice any of that noise from the video. Probably because usually the compressions aren't that big or I don't notice it.
Anybody has a comparison between the 160 mm link for the stock shock and this long link? I'm not a heavy rider so idk if I could justify buying another x2 for the long shock link and it also says that on newer model years clearance could not be working with the long shock kit.
If that's the case this would be a bummer because I notice a huge difference in handling on trails with a bike that has a lower center of gravity and weighs one, two or even three kg or more less. The big batteries have the downside of being very long which raises the center of gravity...
Obviously not. In my experience aluminum cogs are not made for the power of ebike motors. Most people don't seem to notice because they 'shift' with the motor. But if you really use those cogs in steep terrain how they are intended my chains jump over them in turbo after 2500-3000 km. And I'm a...
