Just to keep this thread up to date, after much deliberation I decided to give the SQlabs a try.
And after even more deliberation I went with the 16 degree back sweep.
From my research it seems that if you are coming from a bar with 9-10° back sweep you may not find much difference with the 12°...
I recieved my Freerider EPS during the week and gave them a try today.
It was a dry day but we've had torrential rain for the past two weeks so the mud and slop was pretty bad.
I got the low top ones so paired them with a cheap set of gaiters to help keep the water out.
Looks really naff but...
Those Leatt look great but a bit too much for me at the moment. Seems you have to spend well over £150 to get anything fully waterproof and with decent grip.
I've picked up a pair of EPS, currently on offer for £40 at Evans which seems a bargain?
they are the low tops though, I'm hoping coupled...
I picked up a cheap pair of mucker/fishing boots as I liked the idea of the fully rubber lower. for riding in really muddy conditions they should be fully water proof and easy to clean once home.
However I think they are going to be too bulky and loose to actually ride in.
Looking for other...
Bark buster handguards where the go to for mx. They do a universal mount that might work for MBT, though I suspect you will need to do a bit of bodging to get them to fit. They might be a bit bulky for mounting biking though.
On a serious note, if you do accidently contaminate your discs / pads, immediately clean them with pure acetone (not nail polish remover as it has other ingredients) and a bit of a 1200 wet and dry sand paper.
I do this regularly to remove containments, dirt/mud and brake pad dust. Brakes are...
Flash all purpose cleaner, 1 cap full diluted into 4 litres of water. Cheap, cleans well, wont affect brakes at this ratio.
When the bike is clean and dry give it a good coat of gt-85 or if it's a special occasion some ACF-50, come's up sparkling and is easier to clean the next time.
Everyone's opinion on best will be different, you need to ask the right questions.
If cost is the best then 27 grand will get you this, but it doesn't have the Bosch motor
Haibike nduro 8 might be worth a look. good spec for the money and it's on offer at a few places at the moment.
Yamaha motor, though I've heard it's pretty punchy.
A 50mm rise bar has definitely helped for me. Also look into saddle tilt as getting that correct for you will take pressure off your wrists.
I spent last evening researching rev grips. They look interesting and possibly worth the investment. Most of the reviews I saw said they are worth the...
What rise are you after? There is a 30mm rise listed on eBay at the moment.
I've no experience with the deity bars, I've read they are good bars but not sure if they dampen as well as the vibrocore.
If you get some and don't like them I'll buy them off you
I'm in the same boat, it's a fair chunk of money for a test, then do you go for the 12° or 16°, or stump up for both!
I think it depends on what causes you the pain. wrist angle or vibration/dampening.
I watched a video that...
For reference here's a few photos of the inside of the armour.
Plenty of ventilation holes on the front
Helpful magnetic buckle to remove the chest protector easily.
Centre portion of the chest plate has the holes unobstructed for better airflow, I think this is an improvement over the...
Quick update,
After much deliberation I went with the Alpinestars bionic tech v3 review.
There are no reviews online that I could find so took a chance, it seemed to tick all the boxes.
I had the chance to try it at a bike park and am pretty pleased with it so far.
I'm 6 foot, 37" chest and...
So update,
Managed to spend a day at bike park with the adjusted bars, unfortunately I didn't see any improvement in my wrist, if anything it was worse as after only a few runs I was getting pains in both wrists, before it was just my right.
I could definitely feel my weight was further...
Yeah I've had to remove the bolt and reapply thread lock also.
My bolt did actually have thread lock but it was the kind that comes pre applied to bolts and in my experience isn't as secure as the liquid thread lock.
Hopefully I won't have anymore issues with it, I am still however going to...
Same, I've not had an issue with the battery cover at all, it can sometimes be difficult to get off. You can adjust the location bolt at the top of the frame to make the cover a little tighter if needed.
I was referring to the actual battery and battery holder tray that can come loose.
I use...
