Yeah sucks mate, hope you didn't injure yourself in the process too. Hopefully they can sort it reasonably and quickly

I'll have to go the patch route, has anyone tried them, any recommendations?
I feel your pain @DaveG01 I caught my Madison's on my pedal today and ripped a hole in them, gutted
Downside to waterproof clothing, it does seem to rip easily.
How are you going to fix yours?
I've seen you can get repair patches, though your wound looks pretty large :(
Any idea what you'd call that @Bones ?
Looks like just what I'm after. I use velcro straps around my battery which means the rubber cover doesn't seal 100% and I'm concerned water will easily get in, a similar cover to yours should sort that out.
Glad you got it sorted.
Was it the bolt behind the lock or the 2 bolts at the bottom of the frame near the motor?
Using a small amount of blue thread lock should help prevent it coming loose again 👍
Second that. I also have the Madison DTE and would not call them heavy, quite the opposite in fact.
They are also waterproof rated to 20000, same as the Endura mt500 2 so will repel water for longer, though this is subjective to other DWR coatings etc.
I believe the Fox defend 3l are 10000...
Water proofing does degrade after time, especially if you machine wash them.
You can get re-water proofing sprays that will last 3-6 mounts depending on use.
If you want them to stay effective for as long as possible then a quick hand wash with as little soap as possible is best.
Same bike and same issue for me. It rattled from New and I just assumed it was the battery as that seems the common issue.
Turns out it was the shock. I sent it to silver fish and it was sorted quickly.
My battery tray issues came later at a bike park where I was doing jumps and big drops. The...
It's not necessarily a Cube issue rather a Bosch issue, or perhaps both.
I agree it's a poor design though, to have all the weight of the battery fixed to a carbon frame (in my case) with only 3 bolts.
Having suffered the battery tray coming loose on mine and damaging the mounting bracket I...
Also check that the battery tray is tightly secured. The main fixing bolt is under the lock, just remove the two small torx screws and you can access it.
It's common for this bolt to come loose and cause a rattle or worse get damaged.
I highly recommend using a velcro strap around the battery...
I heard about four4th lights recently, they do look very good, and they have a range of different styles.
They might be worth checking out, I'd be interested to hear from anyone that has one (y)
I was looking at the E almighty, which I believe can run off the Bosch smart system
The E Almighty...
Sorry, typo on my post. It uses the pw-x3.
I've no personal experience with the motor just information from reviews.
I believe it's a haibike issue, they don't currently have an app to customise the motor. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
As I understand Giant do have a customisable app.
Got to see one of these in the flesh yesterday at the bike park. It looks even nicer in person, the colours have a metallic sheen and the suspension looks sweet, the only thing I wasn't keen on is the green on the rear triangle.
Still love the look of it though.
Chatting to the guy who was...
They certainly help to keep the water out, not sure how long they will last as the straps on mine have started to unthread, I could resew them easily and for the price they work well.
I might look into something more durable as well though.
I fitted them the opposite to you though, put them...
I must be in the minority as I think it looks great, but I do like the haibike style anyway.
Wish this deal was on before I bought my stereo 160, not that I'm disappointed with it in any way, but this thing looks like a beast.
Would I be mad to consider a swap 😬
Which is how I have them currently and where they feel most comfortable for me.
As I understand Wenna' post describes having them more like photo 1, so maybe I'll try in between 😁
I'll keep you in mind Sam. Going to hold onto them for the time being until I have more time with the Sqlabs to be sure they are right for me. If I decided to stick with them I'll let you know(y)
Thanks for the input wenna. I've seen leveling the levers mentioned a number of times and your...
I thought this maybe the case which is why I paired them with gaiters to try and keep water from entering the tops.
I also always wear trousers, which over the top of the gaiters should help a bit.
They seemed to hold up pretty well, hoping with a coating of wax or water repellent spray they...
Just cheap ones from ebay. Now I know they work I'll look into getting some better ones I think

Cheers Mike, I'll check out that wax (y) and sort my laces. I went up half a shoe size too and they only just fit with thick socks!
