    Body armour, so much choice

Thanks for the replies chaps 👍 and the sizing info Brenton. I have elbow and knee pads and a full face helmet which has already saved me a trip to the dentist from an OTB. I see that any armour is going to be a compromise in protection versus comfort/heat, but also personal preference plays a...

    Body armour, so much choice

Thanks for your reply Brenton. I had looked at the leatt 5.5 as it offers great protection but discounted it in the end as I thought it would be to heavy and restrictive. Can I ask what body size you are? I'm 6 foot and pretty lean, around 11 stone so anything to heavy I may find tiring...

    Body armour, so much choice

I'm slowly starting to progress at bike parks and more advanced trails, I'm also not getting any younger and don't bounce as well as I used to. To keep the better half happy I think some protection would be a good idea. So I'm after some body armour for bike park use and want a decent level of...

    Aggressive hardtail emtb

Nice! Appreciate the effort you've put into that build and it obviously performs well too. I've not seen the Prime before so I'll have a look into it. it's a shame there is nothing out there slacker, Guessing putting anything over a 140 would make it pretty unrideable other than downhill...

    Aggressive hardtail emtb

Maybe the new Bosch sx motor could be a contender?

    Aggressive hardtail emtb

I'm sure they said the same thing about full fat MTBs but look where we are 😆 I don't disagree with you though, I guess light weight is what makes a hardtail. Maybe trying to make an all out downhill HT isn't the way to go but I still like the idea of one 🤟

    Aggressive hardtail emtb

For sure! Ideal would be mullet set up with some cushcores or similar, wide super soft tyres, big travel enduro forks. Slack frame, nice groupset and powerful brakes. Would you go light weight or full fat for the motor though? I'd like full fat but the extra weight could be too detrimental...

    Aggressive hardtail emtb

I'm fairly new to mountain biking and like a lot of people it seems I started on an old hardtail that I put some time and money into restoring, took it to bike park Wales on my first every trip to a bike park and loved every second of it. I spent 6 months on it and then moved on to a full sus...

    Let's see your cubes

I'd removed the stock carbon bars early into ownership of the bike for some higher rise alloy bars. Because I like to tinker I refitted the carbon bars and went for a ride to feel the differences and see which set up I prefer. Straight away I could feel the carbon bars gave more feed back...

    Motor cover question

All of the electrical connectors into the motor are water sealed but it's a good idea to clean out any wet mud regularly to negate the chance of water getting past the seals 👍

    Motor cover question

It's a good idea to remove that cover every time you clean the bike. Water and dirt get packed in there and needs removing. (y)

    Fox float X rattle

https://www.wiggle.com/p/vitus-trunnion-mount-shock-bolt-kit-2018 This is the one I bought. Like I say I've not tried fitting it yet but it should work.

    Fox float X rattle

Unfortunately not. I'm still using the original bolt which I've manged to torque to spec and without any thread lock so when I do eventually find one I can replace it easily. The only place I've seen one for purchase is from bike-discount.de but once you add postage you'll pay way more than...

Would like peoples opinions on the damage to my new bike.

Yeah seems shady AF to resell that bike as shop soiled, you can clearly see how deformed the head tube is from the photos. While I'm sure you could smash a new bearing in there I wouldn't trust it. Some unlucky person who doesn't know better is going to get a lemon 😞 I'd take the refund and...

    Torso Protection

Been looking into this myself recently too. Does anyone use the Troy Lee Designs UPS 7850? If so would you recommend it?

Would like peoples opinions on the damage to my new bike.

100% take that back, that frame is toast! No way worth the hassle of future bearing replacement problems for 100 quid plus the potential ally fatigue leading to stress fracture.

Kiox (NOT 300….) power output to phone

Sorry, yeah I was referring to the LED controller not the display for the Kiox 300 smart system (y) Though as I understood it is only for charging the controller and not to power other devices?

    Bosch battery retaining tab broken

Stereo hybrid 160, 22 model. On a ride the other week I noticed a rattling sound coming from the bike which progressively got worse throughout the ride. I nursed it home where I could take a better look and discovered the battery tray had come loose. Common issue that was easily resolved by...
