    Mid-ride re-charging locations

I think it's a great idea :) Even 20 minutes is better than nothing, , stop for coffee 20 mins, lunch 45 mins say an hour in total would give you at least an additional 30% charge (150 Wh). Like starting your day with a 650Wh battery (y)

    Tubeless Woes

As above air leaking from around the valve and spokes is almost certainly a result of a rim tape problem, very rarely is it the valve itself.

    Tubeless Tyre Question

Pretty much any tire can be installed tubeless, but generally non tubeless spec (cheap) tyres tend to be quite porous on the side walls and therefore need a lot more fluid and time installing to make them airtight.

    Missing protection spring???

Assuming you have a Shimano XT m8000 setup, I believe this is standard on your bike, then chances are you can get what you need here, Gear Spares - Shimano Rear Derailleurs | Gear Spares | Transmission | SJS Cycles SJS are superb for spares, I always try them first and usually if they don't...

    Rear Axle for Meta Power

Call me old fashioned, but a good multi-tool is a pretty handy bit of kit to have on you especially when you find yourself with problems out on the trail. The OEM axles really aren't difficult or even that slow to remove trail-side. I guess if you are competing in a race there would be an...

    Rear Axle for Meta Power

Not sure why you would want to really, can't see the benefit of quick release over the better security afforded by the OEM stealth. Are you getting many punctures ?

Trying to choose between Levo and Meta Power, what do you think?

The Commencal will certainly not disappoint, build quality and the specification you get for the price is very hard to beat. Shimano's E8000 motor package really is a sweet bit of kit, highly recommended.

What tyres? The Ultimate Tyre Thread

Just come back from Afan Forest, had a fantastic three days riding with Kernow. :D Before we left we went in to our local Specialized dealer, Certini. We were looking for a fast rolling setup for the rocky hard pack going at Afan. We got a Slaughter for the rear's and a Purgatory for the...

    400km Chain Replacement?

The Gap Kernow is referring to is indeed 22mm on Ex1 but I believe it's 15mm on the 11 speeds, but most importantly it has to be set at your SAG position. So you will need help or let the air out of your shock to reach the correct position before setting. (Sram specific)

    400km Chain Replacement?

Hey Tamas 1000km / 600 + miles on a cheap chain is pretty impressive, a testament to your chain maintenance regime :) But in my experience the wear rate accelerate's towards the end of it's life, small amounts of wear quickly turn into ever large amounts of wear ever more quickly and suddenly...

    400km Chain Replacement?

Hi 100 Cols Glad to hear your chain is doing well, the fact that its a 10 speed chain helps, being a tad beefier than an 11 speed and your local riding conditions also seem to be less abrasive perhaps, but I would seriously recommend you keep an eye on the wear as it can very quickly change...

    Which 11 Speed Chain?

Hey Doomanic You should be able to get XTR M9000 for about £30.00 and XT M8000 for £28.00 both are good chains, the XTR comes with two connector pins, can't remember about the XT chain. You will have to look around to get these prices and it may be worth getting a couple, that way you always...
