The Meta power is a fine bike, I have had mine since mid march and covered just short of 450 miles, it is is very well specked and great value for money, the overall package is about spot on in terms of build quality, design and geometry. If mine got pinched I would honestly buy the exact same...
Had a great ride on Dartmoor followed Drakes Leat up to and back from Princetown, what an amazing bit of engineering 430 odd years old and still working great.
I see the new Ghost Emtb comes with short 155mm Cranks, I had short cranks on my old Bosch CX powered Lapierre and really liked them. Shimano only offer a 165mm option so hardly worth the effort for 5mm, can't seem to find much info on the cranks fitted to the new Ghost, anyone have any idea's...
Thanks eFat,
Ref riding conditions, let's assume general off-road, dry and dusty to wet and muddy.
So you managed 3000 Km or 1850 Miles, with two chains but it sounds like you pushed it a bit to far. Hence the cassette not working with the new chain ring?
Sound's like a fair assessment, would...
Personally I managed 2500 from a rear cassette on a Bosch CX with 17 T front and an XT 11-42 cassette.
This required a new chain approximately every 400 miles or so. I replaced the chain as soon as it got close to the 0.7 mark, or as soon as I was able to gently force the 0.7 chain gauge fully...
Actual experience, gained from ownership and use Gary. Not supposition and guesswork, I know this to be true because I've experienced it.
The guy's I ride with have also experienced very similar results.
So Gary, that is how I know, YOU are never going to get 1800 out of an Ebike chain...
CCR, Sincerely I wish you luck with that project and look forward to hearing the results. :)
The price of EX1 is, as all new tech tends to be, too high but if you shop around it's not as bad as some would have you believe, Bike Inn were offering some pretty good prices and I got a second...
Hi CCR
Had the Bosch CX with XT 11-42, 11 speed for two years, worked fine but was for ever multi shifting to keep up with the pedals, always felt it simply had to many gears, I honestly think it would have been a better package with EX1.
Now 300 miles into Shimano E 8000 with EX1 and I love...
I think Eddy got this pretty much spot on, especially if the nearest bike shop is 2 hours away and possibly won't even stock the part you will need. Sods Law dictates this to be the case. I can't see any spare spokes or a spare shifter and cable, Come on Eddy
I once ripped off a rear...
Hi, both, PCS9 and PCS10 are rated for use of up to 36Kg, this should be more than enough for your Levo. I use a PCS9 with a Meta Power for servicing and have the same clamping issue's as you, but short term clamping of the dropper should not cause any long term problems as long as you let it...
REALLY o_O
So, Gary, for the record, you are stating that, as a 'highly experienced cycle mechanic', you would rather replace everything, every 600 or 700 miles, than replace a chain every 300 to 400 miles and potentially make the rest of the transmission, last between 2000 to 2500 miles...
Had a vey hard time transferring over to Sram from Shimano, new bike has EX1 8 speed, previously had an XT 11 speed setup. The EX1 has been a proper mare and I tried everything and could not get it shift properly and quite honestly I was ready to throw in the towel and buy Simano again.
But in...
Or perhaps we could just live and let live
Let those who want to talk about, talk about it :)
And those that don't want to talk about, don't talk about it :)
You said your bit and I think anyone with the time to read your posts will be very clear as to your views on the subject, but...
Stunning looking bike, looks perfect for those fabulous trails you have on your doorstep and you will certainly be able to get around quickly and follow all the EWS action, I'm sure Mr Callaghan will approve. :)
