I was just about to make a comment about bafang not sticking to standards but I thought this cartoon expressed it better:
Although M16x1mm seems super weird M16x1.5 I can maybe understand, but x1mm WTF!
I'm guessing I'm going to need one of these and some M16 bolts with a smooth top bit to cut...
When I tried to replace mine, I couldn't find an exact one, but I think it's a 2.1mm DC jack with power on the centre pin. I've re-engineered mine to use an XT60 behind a TPU 3D printed flap now though as DC barrel jacks suck. This is however on the new version frame with the port on the side...
I didn't know about the brake sensor canbus connection, that's new to me.
The other stuff, yeah I've already cloned the repo and going to try and get my ESP32 with the built-in can tranceivers to decode and possibly encode packets.
I wonder why it also has canbus on the brake sensor...
@Hagbard (and others)
Okay, quick update, I've had a bit of time today as I'm officially off work with the dreaded C19, so I've been trying to take my mind off it by messing about with the M600 drive HMI / buttonset.
- Today, I received a cheapo Shimano button-set, it has some sort of DI2 chip...
Waiting on a Shimano E6xxxx button set I've ordered to take apart (even though it's DI2 I figured internally at the most basic they must just be simple pushbuttons and I can rewire internally).
The task of designing working (and waterproof) low profile buttons is a bit daunting, I have to...
Have you got a charger with an 80% switch or just doing it with a timer. I've got 52V chargers that I used with my BBSHD bikes batteries with that feature but no 48V ones.
The one on the right is the one I chose for the M510, as it matches the E10 frame (2 x holes on side of frame not both sets pointing down like the one on the left)
The problem is, you want it to break away before it pulls the threads out of the bike frame (a metal one would not break, so the frame would!). I'm looking at some sort of TPU or rubber based design, but it's way down on the priority list right now of things to design/print. Plus I wanted to...
Just adding my experience:
I'm 178cm and L was too big
M was in the Goldilocks zone for me - just right! With a dropper at its lowest I can easily put both feet on the floor. I've got fairly short legs (30inch inside leg).
36T is pretty good for chainring for me, but I like spinning the cranks...
If you're talking about the E10 battery, be aware that the battery switch circuit is a major point of failure in this bike/battery combo if you get any sort of water ingress into where the pogo pins connect to the battery. Although if you live somewhere it never rains, it's just a standard push...
Yes, initially my aim was to replace the button cluster with something lower profile (like the giant or specialized one), maybe design and print my own or just splice the cable into one of those.
Long-term I'm looking at the Nordic semiconductors microcontroller to replace the whole HMI on the...
Received the HIGO connectors today, and wasted no time in making a contraption to test my theory about the buttons:
Turns out, it works:
Initial voltage across pins 5 and 6 (pwr button) is 50V, but after power up, it's about 4.8V
So:
After powerup
PWR 4.8V
UP:3.3V
DOWN:4.8V
No idea why UP is...
They're certainly charging a premium for the M510, I was concerned about the "repair" I'd done to my M600 and it's potential longevity in the wet UK conditions, so I've ordered a M510 from Alibaba last week and mine has apparently shipped. Not sure how long it will take to get here, but I'll try...
Looks there is also complete schematic for a HMI and display on there too using the nordic semi microcontroller:
The nRF52840 is a nice choice as it's small has bluetooth and ANT. Which means it may integrate with Garmin or other cycle computers, HR monitors etc.
At the moment, I'm...
We could do with someone who has one of those switch units, who can disconnect it and check the wiring with a DVM for continuity when switches are pushed. Also although my tests looked favourable, I'm waiting on the HIGO connectors to properly verify my theory.
But if everything works out we...
