Going on what I read on the forums it's not a standard ISIS spline, which is very annoying. Maybe it's a licensing issue or bafang just want to sell more cranks. I read somewhere lekkie were thinking about doing some, but nothing on their site yet.
Bafang cranks (top) Luna X1 cranks (bottom)
Bafang - 170mm / 571g
Luna - 150mm / 462g
Took 7 days from order to arrival from Luna (to UK) - no duty to pay (although I have been caught by this from Luna before when I bought a couple of chainrings from them)
Not tried them yet as I haven't...
Other than the Luna x1 ones linked in another post below, or making your own I couldn't find any. I've ordered the Luna x1 ones in the end, it's just a pity that someone like Lekkie aren't making any like the ones for bbs02/bbshd, as I've got some of those and they are really nice.
I suppose...
Probably, that sort of thing is always a pain, I was going to build my own but they couldn't supply the empty enclosures at the time, if the battery takes longer than the frame I still will I think. I've still got enough cells in a 52v battery I built for another BBSHD project that I aborted...
I've only got tracking for the UK part, but this was the timeline if it helps
- 12th April - email from Melody requesting postcode
- 16th April (according to tracking) shipment picked up Birmingham UK
- 22nd April East Midlands sorting
- 23rd April Leeds delivery facility and finally round the...
(UK) My M600 has just turned up via DHL, looks much sleeker than the BBSHD although still quite heavy. I just need the battery and frame now. Not keen on the length of the cranks though, as I usually use a 160mm, but I was aware of this when it was ordered. I received SMS a couple of days ago...
Although it's frustrating at the moment, I think it will improve as more manufacturers in Europe are looking at using the m600 and m500 (Forestal).

Not a chance unless you can reprogramme the specialized firmware on their controller, canbus is a fieldbus protocol so that kind of matches, but the chance that it uses the exact same messages are pretty low I'd say. It's a bit like saying 2 petrol engines from different manufacturers would...
If it's similar to the one I got on ebay, it's not compatible without changing the damper body for a standard instead of bearing eyelet (this is what I bought wrongly and it's too wide by a long way).
The damper body from the the standard one is swappable, but when it came to replacing it with...
Charging only to 80% or even 90% will significantly extend the life of the battery (number of charge/drain cycles etc.). But obviously you won't get the same range as 100% charged. You can either use a "smart" charger or do it on I timer I guess. Not sure if any BMS have the ability to cut the...
I wonder if this means previous orders will have reduced capacity batteries?
I did notice that my usual supplier has very little stock of 18650 cells at the moment (all brands), I'd assumed it was a Brexit issue, but as these batteries are coming from China maybe the problem is at source.
I notice you're running a chain guard/device, looks like it's just bolted to the motor is that correct. I don't suppose you have any CAD drawings for that?
Well mine is ordered, I've gone large and plain matt black as I want it to look stealth so it doesn't get nicked if I ever leave it anywhere.
Shipping date I was given is end of April, I think Dengfu is having a bit of a surge due to this forum!
Never had a carbon frame, but the Giant Trance I...
No such thing as a free lunch, lots of energy lost by friction, heat, noise etc, major losses in terms of efficiency ( it's not really worth the complexity on a lightweight vehicle - Regenerative braking: how it works and is it worth it in small EVs? - Electrek )
Lighter higher capacity...
Longtime e-bike commuter/e-mtb/mtb rider (10 years-ish). Started off with Kalkhoff/Bosch, had a couple of cheapo rear hub drive DIY, and various BBSHD conversions, 1 of which I managed to snap in two! After watching Rob's YT series about the Cheeb, I'm now going back to something more integrated...
