Where do the Dengfu Bafang M600 batteries come from?

BFT03-04 are 43V but those could be the same form factor. I'm not sure what the 43V firmware high voltage cutoff is. I have tested it at 49 volts with a 48V pack.. didn't want to go any higher than that.

First one is not a replacement for the Bafang 03 or 04. Not because of the voltage. But it just won’t fit in the mounting system. Second one I don’t know as I don’t have a e10

Second one is pretty close, but doesn't quite match the dimensions of the e10 battery, though it's a hard thing to measure. Visually looks bob on though.

EDIT: Was just one measurement that looked odd, but measured it again and it does appear to match.

It seem bafang propose new ones batteries BT F15, 15, 25. But i don't know on which frame they are used ?

Luna X1 does not have Bafang battery. Bt03 and 04 don’t fit. The x1 is a Dengfu e09 frame.

The ican does have a Bafang battery. But it’s actually a lightcarbon frame.

I bought the second one as a spare and it’s a match for my E10/E22 frame but the BMS acts differently. The battery I got with the bike sleeps until the power switch on the side of the bike is depressed. The spare I bought from Aliexpress is always awake and does not respond to the power button on the bike. I’m not sure if this is a potential problem. Does anyone know about this or why this happens?

I also bought this 12.3ah to have a lighter battery;

Hello Everyone,


Hopefully this helps, i was able to source from this seller only the casing considering shipping difficulties to Brazil, perhaps useful for someone with same difficulties. I'm planning on building my battery locally with 21700 (Tesla Cells if not mistaken) which are more energy dense than regular 18650, sizing is different, and it could pose a challenge. Let ‘s see how it plays out.

Most likely the pogo pins that connect the on/off circuit in the BMS are not connected inside the battery.

How much does the 12.3Ah weigh?

Thanks, I'm thinking of getting one too but the weight of the 17.5 I have was putting me off, just over 3Kg sounds a bit easier on the back

I use it for any ride less than 15k or 1:30hr and it’s been great. The 12.3 should come with a 30A bms but some sellers were not very responsive or clear in their product description. I messaged them to make sure.

Edit: I also only charge it to 80-85% to max charging cycles.

Have you got a charger with an 80% switch or just doing it with a timer. I've got 52V chargers that I used with my BBSHD bikes batteries with that feature but no 48V ones.

That battery is a great find CvK, I might also get a 12.3Ah for my (still to arrive) lightweight E10 build. Might be the final piece to get it under 20kg.

I suspect I might have the same Luna Advanced 52V charger for my BBSHD as you - and almost always limit it to 80 or 90% charge at only 2A to good effect.

For the 48V batteries for the E10/E22, a smart charger like used for golf cart or mobility scooters might be an option? I saw someone suggest similar elsewhere on the forums.

Hang on... looks like Luna make an Advanced Charger for 48V batteries too: (good price if you're already in US... alas Sold Out!)

Ok, you've sent me down the Advanced Charging rabbit hole... have found this pretty amazing (and modestly expensive) programmable universal charger designed in Canada: "Grin Technologies Cycle Satiator"

Does everything we could want and more, including programmable voltage for multiple battery types (24, 36, 48 and 52 V). (Though I'm always a bit dumfounded when I see frame-mounting options for bike battery charging!)

Amazon: (some mixed reviews...)

Seems to be stocked in lots of places, here's a Canadian seller page with videos etc:

The satiator has been fantastic for my needs. It’s expensive and I needed to buy all the adapters separate as well as a programming cable. That’s my one gripe with it. Otherwise it’s worth it if you have (or plan to have) more than 2 different voltage batteries. I have to charge multiple batteries; my wife’s 36v, my Dengfu/Luna 48v batteries for the G510, and my 52v for my BBSHD. It has performed flawlessly, but it does help if you have a bit of DIY/tinkering experience.

If you only are running one voltage I think a few people here have bought the Luna and had good results.

I wouldn't let that last sentence throw you because it is as you say an option and some of Grin's customers, as well as their principal guy Justin, have made good use of it over the years. It is a quality piece of electronics and as indicated is a bit $$ but I have had one for 4 years and several different batteries with different plugs and voltages and it works as advertised. Will even charge up to 8A but I have only used that feature a few times.

A good group of folks there and well worth supporting.

Be a bit careful guys in charging to just 80%, you can get into a situation pretty quickly where the BMS never reaches enough voltage to set off the balancing of the cells. Eventually the cells get so far out of kilter with each other group, that you get a very low total charge and wonder why your battery is not performing as it should. The potential without charging to 100% regularly is to damage the battery by stressing the lower voltage cells.

If you think you will recharge your battery more than 3 - 4000 times, then 80% charging maybe a good idea. If you're like the rest of us and only ride a few times a week, then the 5 - 10 years of use charging to 100% will be far outweighed by new battery technologies that will be lighter and more energy dense.

A question about dengfu battery charging. When I charge the battery to full capacity then Bafang Go tells me the voltage is around 55.2 which is weird coz it should stop at 54.8, right? Also the voltage reading at low SOC seems off... For example today I have discharged the battery to 15% according to DPC241 but the voltage reading on the Bafang Go was about 45.5 when it should be around 43.5 if we consider that the cut off voltage should be around 42v? However when I have checked voltage at 50% it showed me exactly 48v which sounds about right. Did anybody encounter this? What might the reason be? Bafang Go gives inaccurate reading? Weird firmware setting? I am using m510 rev e supposedly 48v firware.

It's the BMS shutting it down. Had the same problem with the stock Bafang battery. Switched to a custom 21700 cell battery with a 40A BMS, stock is 30A, and that one still shuts down too soon IMNSHO even though I have my LVC programming, UART motor, set to 39v. In the end it probably isn't a bad thing for battery longevity and something you are just going to have to learn to live with.

I am not sure that's the case. As far as I understand the SOC is calculated by the HMI/fw. So if it's showing 15% at 45.5 isn't that more related to fw settings?

I also think its the firmware. Check my previous posts on M510 thread if You like, the firmware I‘m using has a much better attenuation behavior, and shuts off below 41V only.

Can you remind which revision and firmware you're using? I have rev e and using
this firmware as it's the only one that supported Besst Pro and the assistance adjustment feature
My firmware is. CRX10NC4814i101003-1-cs-28-2230-boot3-0-20220517161110-48v-M510.bin
But thats for Rev I, sorry….
