I really feel lucky and I sympathise with people having had poor build issues. My May 2020 base Decoy was very well put together indeed, for balance. Only issue was a creaking headset as zero grease in there... So perhaps there is pattern of I consistence QC at play here.
It doesn't surprise tbh. It obviously depends on the rim too. I managed it on a DT Swiss 1900 29' 30mm on my own but it was a fight that I nearly lost despite using all the tricks in the book and breaking a tyre lever. Would have been a bit easier with a second pair of hands.
Coming from Shimano, my Code Rs on the Decoy have been very impressive, particularly in terms of modulation and consistency (unlike the continuously variable bite point of the XTs). No maintenance needed since new after 6 months and 1,200 miles.
My friend wore his rear ewild very quickly on his Heckler. Replaced it with an Eddy. I have much better wear on Eddy which is an excellent all rounder. Not even sure the ewild comes in 29 yet.
The power is limited to 250w anyway so there will be a cadence where the torque difference will be of no effect. Granted there will be a difference on the way there but the basic equation of Power = torque x cadence remains true and often misunderstood.
Yes true but to be fair I am not too bothered about diameter. Not a massive downgrade IME, if at all. Perhaps slight loss of response but less trail buzz perhaps.
Cheers anyway, I'll probably give it a go with bars and stem as a system.
For clarity I am trying to understand if a Di2 compatible handlebar is also in effect a Steps compatible handlebar for cable management purposes, including the Di2 stem that would be yet another step to clear the mess that my Decoy cockpit is out of the box.
Sorry to restart this thread. Does anyone have direct experience of the Di2 Pro Tharsis Trail bars and can tell me if it allows the routing of both E7000 cables?
I think the front will be OK which is the main thing for me. Rear might be a challenge for traction but that could actually add to the fun on an ebike.
