I have a 2.6 Eddy on my base 29 Decoy with plenty of clearance so a 2.8 may fit with enough clearance although I think only Specialized make such a tyre.
I would strongly recommend to consider a pair of Eddys 2.6. It has markedly improved the bike.
Interesting. I think compatibility may be OK with some non specific Shimano 12 speed ring . But it also seems to be random/luck of the draw unless the ring has been designed with Shimano 12 speed in mind.
I agree. I would investigate compatibility and research if FSA even make a Shimano 12 speed ring. And I don't just mean a 12 speed ring, as Shimano 12 speed rings have a specific profile to match a Shimano 12 speed chain. I only know of one aftermarket maker of specific 12 speed Shimano rings...
That was my reaction. The entry level bike is €1,000 more than the 2020 entry level bike although 38 instead of 36 but Deore chain and cassette plus still no DT Swiss wheels at that price, come on.
Will be interesting to see where other brands price their EP8 2021 bikes, and particularly YT.
I am hoping for £50/month depreciation. But that means selling for £2,250 after 3 years. Which is going to be tricky as by then new prices of an equivalent bike will probably be under £3k...
That seem very consistent to my experience, unsurprisingly.
I have since then switched to double ply heavy Current Eddys which has probably cost 5% mileage but really worth it.
Cheers. Are there different ways of going up? I have never done the Beast thing on the acoustic as I cycled up the uplift road. I just wonder which is most energy efficient.
Going on Thursday and no idea how far the 540 battery will take me, hopefully 5 climbs.
Had anyone ever recharged on site and how did it work ? Do you have to book ?
Thinking that perhaps 1 hour recharge over lunch may give me another 2 climbs.
Thanks. Nick
Cycling through a Sussex village today, someone I couldn't see shouted "cheat" just as I went past them and they were in my peripheral vision. I only just had the time to instinctively shout back "so long, mother fucker!" but didn't have the presence of mind to put on a Chinese accent.
I think the initial resistance to change is receding indeed. In 5 years time absolutely no one will bat an eye lid at an emtb as they will probably be the majority of mountain bikes as the price point carries on cascading.
