Whoops - meant to post this here. I picked up shreddas. They are kind of insane.

Front and back?
Yep, front and back. The back tire is slightly more reasonable. The front tire is unlike anything I have ever seen, except for motocross tires. I like STEEP loamer chutes, so I'm stoked to try these out. I'll report back when I get a chance to test them in the forest.

I am a little worried about how they will feel on hardpack dirt jump lines, but we'll see how it goes.

Bought a Shimano CN-M9100 126L chain on eBay from Woolly Hat Shop (which is actually bikeparts.co.uk) to replace the chain which has just done 1,000 miles which is pretty much par for the course in our South Downs riding conditions.

been looking at those mini electric pumps for a while
came across the Airbank SE on aliexpress for £19 delivered ordered Thursday came today 5 days haha
though I’d take a chance on it
works brillant tbh tested it on 29er front blew it up 3 times before running out of battery to about 20 psi each time
Takes 20 mins to fully recharge it so quality bit of kit. Plus it was sent from Cycplus so maybe made by them?

Not so much for the bike but my connection to it, Endura
MT500 Burner Flat Waterproof Shoes in an effort to find comfortable and waterproof (ish) footwear that also allows use of an ankle brace as these have a large openable area unlike the 510’s I’ve used last year..
£129 was the cheapest I could find with Westbrook cycles👍

As recommended by @Rob Rides EMTB when really mucky I use Vaude gaiters from Amazon, not cheap or pretty but work well. Not the strongest so try to avoid walking any distance with them on.

I just purchased these Fizik Terra Artica X2 clipless shoes for winter rides. After reading a lot of reviews, most people liked them but said they are almost impossible to get on and off your feet. And wished they had a heel loop to aid in getting them on. Well I guess those reviewers have fat feet and cankles.
I’ve used them now on 3 rides and find them to be great shoes and not very difficult to get on and off. (No shoe horn) Mine unexpectedly have heel loops……Fizik must have listened to the reviews and added them.
Comfortable warm dry feet with great hike-a-bike ability.

I've got these and they are fabulous, super warm and really comfy when they're broken in. It's interesting to hear you find them easy to get on and off as I find them almost impossible!
I spannered my ankle on a jump last week and I was very glad I wasn't wearing these as I would have had to cut them off -- I had Shimano GF800s (flats) on so managed to pull them off while biting down on my coat so I didn't scream 😅 .

I have the Shimano SH-GE900 for the dry season…..fantastic shoes!! I was really looking for the same exact shoe but with winter qualities. I prefer a more flat bottom with decent tread and flex for rocky hike-a-bike, that also fit good with my HT X3 pedals.
I found the SH-EX-900 GTX (too boot like for me), and a few other options in flat/no clipless.
I have skinny almost flat feet, which Im sure helps getting in and out of the Terra Artica X2.

I'n a bid to try and reduce the time and faff to cleaning chains on my bikes, I've gone for a Parktool CG-2.4 kit. Essentially their cyclone chain scrubber, their ChainBrite degreaser (bio-degradable) and a gearclean brush.

Found it on Amazon for £28.99

When the weather is better, will give it a go and see how I get on 👍

I'm all for additional bling, but those ones for the Mavens look no different other than being gold?

just noticed this 🤭

the Oak levers are a slightly different shape, slightly longer AND have dimpling that hopefully will minimise the non-grip effect I've suffered with using the standard Sram levers (on Rsc's and Mavens) in wet conditions:cautious:

ideally I'd have bought their purple but out of stock at time of ordering:rolleyes:

Alpinestars Vector Tech Protection Jacket, the long sleeve version but they are removable so....

believe this was the type worn by Mr Dunne (& tested by him recentlyo_O)

been meaning to get some kind of body / chest protection for ages but now actually done something about it:cool:

MTB related and something to do before the Super Bowl festivities tomorrow (looking forward to a T Swift sighting 🙄, and I’m on the fence between the Chiefs and Eagles).

Class 3 hitch for the RAV4 for some Squamish and Whistler adventures.

And, another C02 cartridge, adapter and some oil for the Project 321 hubs.

My neighbour painted the picture of my dog…she’s 8 years old. …WOW! Gonna frame that.

I just picked up that exact same CO2 inflator head and some spare cartridges on sale this week! I hope to never use them.

I’ve got two backpacks and one hip pack that I use for different types of rides. I usually take the basic essentials …first aid kit, tire plug, simple tools, water, Co2 cartridge, energy bar, iPhone, and …a good attitude.

If I was planning on a ride longer than 30+ kms …I’d probably pack the hand pump and a P&J sandwich 🥪 also.

I’ve never needed the hand pump in almost 6 years …other than another rider(4), but gravity is my friend and a CushCore for the rear helps.

So a couple of Co2 cartridges and adapters made sense for me. They are small, lightweight and convenient …and fairly cheap.

I’ll start the ball rolling, this week she’s had. New kmc chain, cassette, renthal ring. Also mech and dropper cables. New front and rear pads. A new bar remote(warranty). Fork service.
Hoping for a couple of spend free weeks now. Big mileage costs!
A new 3 mm slik lube dropper cable, and a new 4 mm gear cable, pre lube and thinner, makes a big difference!!
