Gave up with it... Due to the motor failure and inability of Shimano to supply a new motor for 3+ months, it'll be repaired when it can be and sold straight away.
@Weeksy . Is that the rise that's knackered? Which motor has that got in it?

Hey beautiful people, I have a mount accessories (you know 2 bolts) on my bike, I just bought the oneup pump ... but there is absolutely no clearance with the bottle cage (dumb dumb) so it goes in my backpack which defeat the purpose - my fox38 is also apparently not edc compatbile f...it only mini which is useless to me.

I though of using a B-RAD Mounting Bases from wolf to lower the cage not sure it is lower enough nor really secure for heavy riding.

Not sure what I could use in that place, what do you use/bought?

Had to tighten the spider lock ring as it had worked its way loose

Had to use a screwdriver and hammer as I didn't have the tool

If it comes loose agian, it will be getting locktited

You may want to replace the spider lock ring or castle nut with a new one. Because the nut is made of alloy the threads wear and stretch after being torqued a few times.
Some blue lock tight will help …but eventually it won’t.

I keep a few spare castle nuts, plus the torque is slightly increased on the new ones.

Rode my bike for first time in 2 months 🫤
Bpw as usual…

Friday afternoon cut short by punctured rear tyre - tubeless sealer wasn’t up to the task🙄
Long walk down the hill🤬

Saturday rode afternoon, again @ Bpw, good times had😎

Saturday I started being brave with attempting some smaller drops on trails, now I’m getting back into practice after ~ 7 months avoiding rough trails thanks to breaking my heel….
Still hurts.

Today again rode all day, flattened battery stopped fun😢

Also today I tried and failed to swap forks on the Norco, have fox38’s currently but they’re slurping and I’m not a fan historically 🤷‍♂️
Also I have manitou dorado twincrown / upside-down forks that I’ve dropped travel from 203mm to 180mm (as deemed safe by Norco) so decided it would be a dinner time task at the park!

IMG_7617.jpeg

Unfortunately I’d fitted a 1 1/8”-1.5” crownrace adaptor BUT the Norco….

IMG_7618.jpeg

Uses 1.5” top and 1.8” lower headset bearings so no dice🫤

IMG_7620.jpeg

Tried the crownrace from the Norco-fitted 38’s but wasn’t happy about stacking adapters so I’ll be making a solid alternative this week on one of my lathe’s 👍

Nothing is ever easy 🤬🤬🤬

Rich.

Flatted another rim [Friday], nearly killed another GX Transmission mech (pogo pins are starting go so intermittent battery connection issues) [Saturday], ran out of pad material on the front brakes (oops) [Sunday], and then fell off it on 50 Shades of Black and took a massive chunk out of the mech and my lovely Stamp pedals 🥲 [also Sunday].

If you turn the audio up on this video you'll hear the moment of rim impact 🙄. - YouTube

I used to use Cushcore but ditched inserts as I don't like how the bike rides with them, but I'll be putting one back in the rear because it's getting a bit expensive!

I have the pump mounted under my bottle cage. I also have the 76 projects pump mount that would work for your top tube mounts.

I don’t have the LGE size bike like you do so I’m limited in mounting options (M-Rail). My PACs (2) would carry the OneUp pumps with tools and tire plugs.

In 4+ years I only needed a pump once (lucky I guess) so I eventually carried a Co2 cartridge and small tool kit for each pac. CushCore for the rear wheel.

If I was traveling further from home, or longer distances, then I would carry a proper pump and tool kit.

I can, and have, limped home on a flat, with CushCore, a few times. A Co2 kit is much easier, and slightly lighter, and cheaper. But I wouldn’t depend on that for a longer ride.

Yeah on the Orbea it works as the bottle cage is very low. Don’t understand why they put it so high on the slash+.

I just cannot have a bag in the saddle, I need the clearance, especially as I am using the anomaly SwitchGrade that allow me to completely change the incline of the saddle - great for climb to DH.

So far I have found the Crankbrothers - S.O.S. TT17 but it looks burly and not sure my leg would not catch it during the ride in some position.

I am using all the time a backpack, especially as I ride alone (medikit, now edc pump etc). I was very sad to not being able to use edc inside the fork as it would habe ease the weight on my shoulder!

Uswe backpack are awesome but once it reach a certain weight, well it feel it.

I have a small drybag from Huck (formally Louri) with a tube, spark patches, miultitool and CO2 strapped to the frame. I carry my pump in a tiny £3.95 running bumbag that’s almost invisible under my jersey (it’s only big enough for the pump and a multitool). Water bottle on the frame for hydration.

Added ODI Rogue v2.1 grips the Trek, supposed to have great shock absorbing characteristics. Also added Entity flat pedals to the Giant. I have Bontrager line comp 30 27.5 rear wheel and 108 rear hub, and I am going to out that on the Trek, try it as a mullet for a while (It's a Rail 5 gen 3 with the flip chip for this). I am 5' 7" and I feel this will do a lot to keep the rear wheel off my butt.

Finally did the yearly service for the start of season.

Used all the parts I had bought over winter and Black Friday

Work done with 5.500 km on the clock:
  1. Shock Fox Float DPX2 Factory - airside service
  2. Fork Fox 38 Factory - lower leg service and air spring full rebuild
  3. Removed outer bearing protection rings from Bosch CX motor and replaced with new ones from service kit
  4. New SRAM Eagle GX chain, new SRAM 34T chainring (steel), cassette still good for another year
  5. Disassembled X01 AXS derailleur cage, cleaned both pulleys and bearings, reinstalled all
  6. Cleaned and greased all headset bearings, remounted fork, adjusted headset
  7. New front tire Schwalbe Albert Gravity Pro Radial Ultrasoft, tubeless with MilKit system
  8. New rear tire Schwalbe Albert Gravity Pro Radial Soft, tubeless with MilKit system
  9. Checked brake rotors and pads, still good
  10. Had fun on first test run

This may have been the video to trigger me into making this a routine maintenance for my Bosch motor. At least once a year for the bearing seal and grease and every 4-6 months for the grease for just the grease.

Also, if you like Morgan Freeman or David Attennborough you’ll find the commentary in this video very soothing. 😉

Ako vymeníte mazivo v krytých ložiskách?
The bearing seal kit, with grease, is not for a sealed bearing. It’s an additional seal, or covering, for the main crankshaft bearing (2).
The kit protects the sealed crankshaft bearings from possible water ingress.
