Ok, I officially got back in the game! Made final payment this week....haggling to the end, and their Chinese ancestry holiday delayed further. So some frustration on detail clarification.😵‍💫

Now just waiting on the tracking number today/tomorrow!!!🥳

Quick and dirty...over the weekend Linda's engineer finally sent a motion CAD illustration video of my fatter air can MegNeg showing the compression arc clearing the frame (I requested it over 6 weeks ago and settled on the still photo instead back then). I emailed the video clip to a mechanical engineering and occasionally riding buddy who confirmed that it "should" work. 💪

I'm planning on buying the Fox Float X as backup (if needed but not as a spare😉)...just in case! Sorry but money is super tight and have to use max leverage to negotiate unfortunately! I'm semi-retired, so very limited living budget! 💸

Anyway, it's finally done with less anxiety but jaundiced eye as they say. I'm sure it will be fine!🤞

If all goes well, it should be shipping out this weekend!🤛

If money’s tight, why dont you save the money of the float X and worst case scenario you just remove the megneg and install the normal can on you rs super deluxe?
Kinda makes 0 sense for me having a backup one

The RS normal is decent but less so at my heavier weight and aggressive/sloppy riding style. But would sell it as the MegNeg on E-bay to max cash on the upgrades...but still at a loss.

I meant the Float is a back up to purchase if needed (not as a spare). As it is readily available here in the US. The rub was I could've gotten another $100 off a month ago on sitewide by JensonUSA who is usually very discount stingy on Fox and other big names. Sure, it's only $100 savings but then I'll be waiting to sell a MegNeg overtime and eating a few hundred there.

So it adds up. Plus, another $400-$500 is the cost of a spare M820 motor. Which is on-order as soon as I can eek it out on the future budget somehow.🫣

I have a DPX2 on a another e-rig and like it for the bottom+out resistance. It's closer to MegNeg feel. The Float X is newer, more slient version. So definitely doable!

But the MegNeg is amazing for my aggressive riding style. It was a deal breaker potential vs. the cash loss.

Hopefully it will fit. I look forward to your review? Especially with your technical background and willingness to "air-it-out".,🤙

Hey my wheels never leave the ground so not one to talk.
Just a little air for me... that's why I got that big Enduro travel 180/165ish? to help counter my poor skilz...I huck more than I can gracefully jump... although I do like a mini tail whip (flick really) for style.😉

All just to wrap it up on this thread and as stated previously, I appreciate the feedback! It's been 30 pages of mostly good info, and yes, some entertaining banter. But please....

I recommend somebody else start a specific topic on the CEF50.😁 Mainly because this one has gotten too long to be practical, mostly by me 🫣, and run it's course.

Maybe a CEF50 battery extender topic? Or a CEF50 shipment and unboxing thread?

I expect the CEF50 ride reviews for both frame and M820 motor should be enlightening! 🤙

Peace out and signing off this specific thread...for reals!!!✌️😎

PS. Look for a pimped-out (or not) anodized purple (Chromecast) DIY paint job coming in 3-4 weeks +/-. (All rattle-can for under $39 USD.😉).

@TCFlowClyde Sorry to drag you back into this thread, but curious how much clearance is remaining to downtube at full compression?

Fair question...I understand the need to know. 😇

Here's a screenshot of vid she sent me of my MegNeg at end of stroke. Note it's 210 x 50 spec.

But the piggyback reservoir clears well too from my view,👍 at least for large frame and up sizes (on smaller frames sizes, it might be fairly close to the downtube).

I guess just DM me with email and I can send it (rather the coil simulation with no piggyback, I thought she sent my MegNeg motion vid as well but it was just 5 snap shots in series).

Thanks (y) Hmm I forgot about frame size. The end of stroke pic should be enough to judge... besides I think there's a forum rule about postcount for newbies and DM something something something

Just a quick reminder...if you're unsure and can wait, @stuff was generous enough to offer to test out a few different shocks from air to coil, in-line to piggyback on his rig. When he gets his shipment in a few weeks(?) he'll likely be kind enough to post his findings. So definitely more definitive! Thanks again @stuff!💪

I should have asked a long time ago but does this manufacturer have a lot of experience making carbon mtb frames? Do they manufacture frames for mainstream bikes brands?
This came up when I was discussing with friends.

As soon as it arrives i’ll test it
Got three shocks to test over here:
Rs superdeluxe ultimate air 210x55
Rs superdeluxe ultimate coil 210x55
Suntour triair 3cr 210x50

Yes, I will have to wait and see if it rubs. The rear shock is a Fox X2 so I will have to have a professional service it. I see that Stuff has a couple of 55mm stroke shocks that he is going to test, I hope they work.

Not really, its one of the simplest shocks to change the stroke.
Just google “fox x2 stroke change”, as easy as adding a volume token.
