Yes give them a call as they are so busy they need a new staff member to update the online store. Ask for the owner Angus and he will have it in stock or try to get it.

At 14k the Merida will be a tough sell, the XT drivetrain is probably better for an Ebike than XTR.

I have the current E160 10k and its a good bike but i did not pay anywhere near retail at retail i would have passed.

Cracked my 900e frame at the top tube/seat tube junction. Apparently a common place for them to let go.

We will see how good/painless Merida Australia warranty is I suppose. I'll keep you updated.

Is yours a large? Seems to be common, I'm keeping a close eye on mine

yep, I don't foresee many issues as this is a wide spread issue. More the time I'll be off the bike. I ride 3-4 times a week and this is going to kill me mentally.

Just my luck to crack one during a worldwide pandemic lol.

Lucky boy.... I'm out most Saturday mornings but that's about it for me. The joys of working full-time and having a family haha. Would be nice to live closer to a trail centre, i could ride before or after work... It's a strong consideration to where i will buy a house next year ?

I have a merida e140 LTD (aluminium) 2020 model. It isn't a year old and has about 1500km. I just discovered the bottom shock mount has some play. Would you consider this a warranty issue? The bike hasn't had hard use judging by my low suspension pressures and tyre pressures and I rarely bottom out with those low pressures.

I certainly would take it back and get it warrantied.

Thanks horspwr. I wrongfully jumped to a conclusion. I don't normally have things come loose on me - it was loose! Bit of a concern. I had it apart about 3 months ago to remove the tokens - cleaned, greased and torqued. At this point, I think I'll clean the threads of grease and use some contact cement as a thread locker. I can imagine how it happens with that pivot point - much up and down and some rotational force.

Just been told by my Adelaide LBS that the 2021 e160 500 model that I had a deposit on will not be proceeding as an available model

Not sure if this is Aus only or world wide

Options are to go to the cheaper 300 or more expensive 700

Lower specs on the 300 aren't desirable so trying to get Merida Aus (Advance Traders) to reduce the price on the 700

Still saying December delivery though

Decisions, decisions !

How does it compare to the LTD (aluminium) model? Aluminium model is cheaper and easier to live with. Personally, if I was you and you still have your clockwork bike, I'd chill. It's all their way right now; it won't be long till that changes.

The LTD version was the 2020 model

The 2021 300 / 500 / 700 are all aluminium - I agree with you regarding this

Been procrastinating too long over buying an eMTB already
Now I've pulled the trigger I will follow through

Just hard to stomach having to fork out over an extra $1k through something I have no control over

What sort of discounts are peeps getting in Au? Looking at the E160 9000 (2021)
We bought a 9000 and an 8000 and I told them to take a grand off each and I was happy. Called my local shop and told them I would pay a deposit now over the phone if they could do that and after a minute of being on hold they said OK let's do it.
