I see, there is plenty of clearance. I'll have to do the same shot, although I couldn't really snug it up. I assume you are using the stock Praxis crank setup, and it's a 2020 frame?

Stock crank, 2020 frame (I guess, got the bike in March 2020).

I had to look twice...There are two updates...wow...Motor and Display....May we get some more torque...after the Bosch and Shimano announcement ;-).....Release note / change log would be great...

Hey guys I bought a levo sl comp a couple weeks ago and have noticed there is an empty threaded hole on the non drive side cable entry. I emailed specialized and they told me at first there is meant to be a small screw in it and then in a later email told me it is meant to be empty.

Has everybody else got this empty threaded hole?

There should be a screw, holding the tubing for the cables.

Thanks a heap for that mate! Neither the dealer I bought from or specialized would help me out with that. Specialized couldn't even give me the thread size so I can sort it myself.

Where did ya get the technical guide? I'm having trouble finding it.

Is it missing on anyone elses bike?

Just out of interest is everyone paying RRP for bikes or are dealers doing any discounts? Presume not at the moment with shortage of bikes?

I found the bike 10% off at another store that was much further from me. My local shop met me pretty much half way and gave me 6% off. 360euro off the 6000euro price tag. Went with the local shop in case I have any issues. Mine is a 2020 model though so maybe that had something to do with it.

No problem mate, I contacted specialized loads of time regarding there not being a black plastic cable guide on the non drive side, i still don’t think the answer they gave is correct as they kept quoting the carbon bike, they said pretty much that’s how they designed the bike lol yet the all other Aluminium bikes that have the same frame design have the cable guide on the non drive side. Specialized sent the tech guide to show the cable guide is not on the tech manual. ?

I got 15% off of mine in the UK! Picked it up 2 weeks ago! Best I could find and well happy with that!

I'm glad I'm not the only one being a pain in the arse about it haha. Specialized's couldn't care less attitude about it was pretty disappointing. I thought the customer service would be a fair bit better considering the price of the bike.

The bloke I got told me that maybe its for pressure relief when welding the frame haha. They're just stabbing in the dark. At least I know the thread size now so I can fill the hole!

It's not really important, though - there's no harm in having the hole there, and nothing to be gained as far as i can see, from worrying about finding a screw that will fit it.
Important enough to be there in the first place ? I have the screw in mine but I’d feel the same if it was missing, paying 5k for a bike i’d like everything to be fitted correctly. If it’s there to secure the tubing to guide the cables, if the tubing comes loose and you need to remove the outer rear mech cable it might be a right chew on getting it back in.

That was the bike shops response. Pretty bloody poor attitude after I've just payed a boatload of money for the bike I thought. Whether it's actually important or not is beside the point. Many things on this bike are not important but I dont want any of them missing. If I only cared about what was important/necessary I'd have bought a single speed hardtail. Having an empty threaded hole in a brand new bike from a specialist manufacturer is wrong IMO.

Subsequent development may have indicated that there's no need for it after all (as I say, I've got the same bike, and the cables are really secure - I really can't see what would be gained by a fixing) so they build the bike without it, but they didn't change the plan, which is why they continue to drill the hole.

If you read through the 90+ pages of this thread, you’ll find this question has been asked several times.
The answer... the aluminium framed SL does NOT come with the plastic surround on the left side.

Not sure why, or why they thought it was a good idea to drill the hole though!

It would explain Specialized's "relaxed" response...

I'll bet it isn't missing. I'll bet it's no longer part of the alloy bike's specification.

Hi this is the reply from specialized, this is regarding there not being a cable guide on the non drive side (there is one one the drive side) the Black plastic Cover.

Apologies for the delay. I have received communication from our global development team - there will always be cables running through the Non-Drive Side headtube entry, but not necessarily on the drive side. This allows the option to run a blanking plate if the rider doesn't want to have a dropper cable (maybe no dropper or maybe AXS) on the drive side. Or they may want a double port to allow a dropper cable and a light cable. It is to allow more flexibility for customisation.

They also said the cable guide isn’t missing and it uses the same frame design as the stump jumper, the Stumpy has the cable guide on?

the 2nd part about the screw being missing, I would say it’s missing, the guy from specialised only recently sent the page from the Tech manual of the non drive side so assuming it’s a recent copy and that states a screw being needed, which attaches to the inner cable routing.

I will go this afternoon for the update...stay tuned, if I can feel or notice something....
So....Update is done....My LBS is really cool....Quick phone call in the morning for the announcement of the visit in the afternoon. After a coffee break the update was done...This time for free ;), but no information about the changes with the new Software version:(.

My drive home was mostly flat, so I can not tell you about some motor improvements. I did not feel any difference on the way home.

But after leaving my LBS, my Garmin Edge 1030 did not find any sensors... :unsure:....after seeking about new sensors, I got them displayed with new Sensor ID's. Before the upgrade I had the ID 5050, after the upgrade the ID was 5258.

So is there maybe an improvement around the ANT+ and BT connectivity?

A short 1km ride connnected with the new Sensor ID's was giving me wrong information about the E-bike Battery Level and E-bike Assist Mode with the Ebike Filed App. Yes I changed before the test riede the ID's also in the app. ;) I had the right information on the Garmin display during the ride. The battery was not full charged (around 80%) and I was shifting between, Eco, Trail and Boost cupple times.

I will try this again tomorrow.

So thats a quick first impression without any big surprise.

If its anything like mine the screw is there but it is a long way in not flush to the surface, its supposed to stop the inner cable sheath from dropping into the frame.

That's the "drive side" port, Ricky - my own bike has a cover on the drive side port - the non-drive side is different.

As I've pointed out, and as p3eps suggests, they're apparently coming out of the factory like this:

2021 Levo SL

just realized that the specialized website displays new 2021 Levo SL S Works & Levo SL Expert Carbon. (both bikes feature stock FOX 36 forks and upgraded brakes, same with new 2021 FF Levos appearing)

nevertheless a new 2021 Levo SL Comp Carbon won´t show up yet...

should we expect a new 2021 Levo SL Comp Carbon upcoming in the next days?

Do you think it will feature an upgraded Fox 36" fork?
