Levo Gen 2 2019 / 2020 Specialized Turbo Levo info and FAQ

Wanted to give a “shout out” to @Al Boneta at Orange Cycle here in Southern California. I purchased a 2018 Levo there December ’17 and bought a 2019 Levo in January this year to accommodate the new 700Wh battery. Both bikes have performed without a hiccup likely due at least in part to Al’s service skills.

Al contacted me this week to let me know he had some upgrades for the 2019 model that I might like and that they would be covered by warranty: new 4-bolt motor covers (supposedly better fitting and stronger), a revised rear suspension link (to reduced the chances of pebbles being caught against the seat tube), and a new rear pivot protection kit (to keep stuff from getting into the gap in the motor housing). I hadn’t seen the new pivot protection hardware so I’ve attached a screenshot showing the part numbers and a photo of it installed (below).

The inside of the motor housing on my bike was clean except for some dust, likely due to having the v.1 sponge installed together with the crude helicopter mud flap I fashioned to cover the gap:

The new protection kit uses a v.2 sponge with denser foam and plastic parts that clip onto the frame and swingarm to fill the gap. Here’s what it looks like when installed, (mud flap is taped up to show the clips). It covers the gap while allowing the swing arm to move over it - tight ‘n tidy!

BTW, a very sharp looking Monster Green 2019 Expert Levo (size Large) sitting on the floor caught my eye, so if anyone is looking for one...

They are indeed in the UK but Specialized is keeping it very secret so they can save a penny...... the same goes for the cable that have NEVER had a single issue as stated by the same Specialized

I’m trying to fit a dropper post and I think I need to get this black plastic cover off to route the dropper cable. There’s an Allen bolt which I’ve taken out but the cover still won’t come off - it’s like it’s plugged into the frame. Anyone help? Thanks!

It won’t come off, you need to thread your cable through the top gap, it’s sort of fixed as the other two run through the moulded cover’s back.

Mine just came off when i took the bolt out, also its worth making sure you get the dropper routing right, if you dont get the loop in the right place and just feed it directly up the seat tube you my not be able to get the seat post to go in as far as you need. Somewhere on here there is a specialised document showing the routing of all of the cables

Stupid question , but why on the carbon frame is it solid with no removable bit , if not needed why have it ???

Somewhere on here there is a specialised document showing the routing of all of the cables

I managed without the loop, but the “oneup” dropper is quite short.

its odd they are different mine has cable routers but the cables just clip into them, they are not through eyelets so to speak.
I wonder why they made different versions!! especially since on the carbon frames there is no "clamp" in that position so there doesnt seem to be a reason to pin the cables down except to just keep them neat

Mines aluminium, they are hydr formed as opposed to moulded CF, probably the difference

My guess is that they are clamped so they don't rattle against the frame.

Hello e-bikers, first post by this e-bike newbie. After renting an e-bike during my holiday in the Swiss Alps last week, I decided to pull the trigger on a MY19 Levo Expert at my local bike shop. This particular bike is assembled and on the shop floor. The sales guy couldn't tell me what is included with a new Levo.

Question: What, if anything, comes with a Levo Expert?

Also got them to include the new lightweight 252Wh battery for no charge.

Had to pay for a water bottle though, so I may switch to another LBS.

No, display is not included. Don't get that display -- it is rubbish.

Yes, multitool inside the steerer tube is standard.
Paint protection stick-ons are not included, but I'm sure lbs would include and fit as part of deal (if you ask them nicely ).
It does come with cheap flat pedals, front and rear reflectors and a bell. I kept the rear reflector because the (large diameter) seat post clamp might come in handy for mounting a tail light.

Howdy. I just got a 2019 Levo Expert and after one ride, it's awesome. Coming off my Kenevo though, it was a bit stiff. Also, the Pike RC is pretty basic and not plush at all in my opinion. I've got a new 36 e-specific fork but it is a 170 and is about 1/2 inch longer race to axle. Has anyone done this and if so any negatives? Also planning to change the rear shock. Poor mans S-Works.

I have the Pike on my Cube and it is plush so maybe you should check the fork is working properly. I had a problem on the Revelation fork on my new Comp. Burping it cured that and I wonder if the fact these bikes/forks are often either in a box or in a shop unused for weeks leads to seals etc not doing their job?

If you are not satisfied 170, it's it's easy to shorten. Just change the air shaft

You will loose about 10mm from the weight of the bike sagging the fork before you even get on it

Is that a Specialized battery or a third party fit in the bottle holder battery?
