Why does that bother you? Everybody I know with an eMTB - or any MTB for that matter drive cars, ride motorcycles, ride road or commuter cycles - heck, many all of that. They have a vested interest.
Now if you were talking 180-200mm you might have an argument but I see 140/150mm travel bikes...
For sure.
We have taxpayer funded Accident Compensation which covers medical costs in most accidents. Just in 1 city the cost of hired scooter accidents is in the tens of millions with Drs visits, x-rays, MRI scans, hospital time and physio treatments - there are other costs, but those are ones...
I have a 45km (27sh miles) loop with 900M climbing (around 2900ft) with average speed of around 14km (about 8 1/2mph)
Ride 80-85% in Eco about 5% in Turbo (3 short sharp climbs) and the rest in Trail. Don't quite make it on the Levo with 504Wh battery and with the 700Wh I have around 10-12%...
Used to trail ride dirt bikes up north in the Indian Lake & Lake Placid area when visiting relatives. Was some good trails that I hope are available for MTB these days.
Have shipped numerous bikes and motorcycles over the years - never had a freight company accept one without insurance. A few in the high dollar bracket $30K plus I have had to pay extra, but usually not too expensive.

I don't skid around corners on a motorcycle either - road or dirt. As I used to teach my students - brake with the bike upright to achieve maximum braking force, complete braking before the apex where you will be powering on .... spinning the wheel through and out of the corner is not skidding ;)
Yes/No/Maybe/Not really :p
Dominant side is not really taken into account on a motorcycle and should not really be on a bicycle - sort of.
The way it was explained to me by someone that researched motorcycles back to the Gottleib Daimler days, is that way back when hand clutches were starting...
Here is my take on it. 1 motor a year is a real issue. 2 motors a year and I am talking with whatever local agency looks after Consumer Protection. 3 motors I am looking for a refund .... 4 motors I want compensation for lost riding time AND mental duress.
@kafkastan - check the post from @Gary.
He has made some very intelligent suggestions based on DH kit that I have no experience with. Checked some out yesterday for when my 12sp setup needs replacing and the Zee derailleur does look a more stronger unit than the XC stuff.
