Hey guys, much difference between the DHF & DHR 2.5 & 2.6? 2.5s are on sale at moment & want to get rid of the horrible standard 2.6 bontragers. Is there any discernable difference?
Yeah I don't know why they're cheaper, we pay 15% sales tax on everything. Trek has been a pretty solid brand since the 90s here.
We don't really get many of the non-mainstream brands here or if we do they're priced higher than a comparable main brand.
Waiting for my new bike to be delivered so I'm bored & don't want to do any gardening.
I just did a quick comparison of prices to see how we fare down here at the bottom of the world. I thought we would be paying a lot more for bikes however for some reason we seem to do pretty well in...
Funnily enough I was worried about going to a 29 after riding my 27.5. I was concerned that the 29 wouldn't be as nimble as my 27 in the tight off-camber techy trails around here.
I test rode a Rail & whoa what a big front wheel! As soon as I started though I was really impressed with how...
Been umming & ahhing over lockdown about which bike to get. Been looking at the Giant Reign however heard good things about the Rail & not so good thing about the Reign. The thing that concernd me was the 29 wheels being nimble enough for the tight tracks around here.
Well I took a Rail 7 for a...
The mino-link flip chip???? Jeepers looks like I'll have to sit through a webinar before riding the thingo_O:LOL:. Thanks for that info. Did you come from a 29 before the rail or 27.5? Some tracks I ride are quite rooty & I can see the benefit.
How have you guys found going to the 29er wheels on the Rail? I'm tossing up between a Reign & Rail however most of the tracks I ride are quite tight techy ones & I haven't ridden a 29 before so not sure if I'd like the extra bit of height
good call. Most of our (good) tracks in Nelson are pretty tight so a short chainstay would be preferable. Funnily I've been put off 29ers cos of the lack of nimbleness I can imagine having that extra bit of height making a tight corner drop off a bit more scarier
I'm hearing a lot of good things...
No giants in your list? I keep coming back to them as the best value for money always.
You wil probably find that most people have just gone out & bought whatever they liked without the analysis, or more often than not what stock is on the shelves at the time. Last year there was bugger all...
Yes the Reigns are a serious piece of machinery. I wonder if they'll seduce the new Trance buyers across. I bought an analogue Trance rather than the Reign due to the lesser climbing ability of the Reign - however now with some assistance on them......
I'd like to throw another opinion out there. I'm coming across a lot of ebikers up on the trails lately & what pisses me off is the basic trail etiquette that is lacking. It seems a lot are new to biking FFs or oldies that have never been able to ride to the top of the local steep trails & have...
Thanks for your very informative reply Jeff.
To answer a few questions or put things in context I hurt my back about 25 years ago lifting a stove & although it wasn't a bad injury I think the time it took to finally find someone to diagnose the problem & set out the treatment caused the problem...
