International Bike price comparison

Waiting for my new bike to be delivered so I'm bored & don't want to do any gardening.
I just did a quick comparison of prices to see how we fare down here at the bottom of the world. I thought we would be paying a lot more for bikes however for some reason we seem to do pretty well in comparison.
This is for the Trek Rail 7 & prices are from the Trek website except the Euro one which is from a review from emtb magazine.
GB 4800GBP = 9605NZD
Eu 5500 EU = 9865NZD
US 6000USD = 9869NZD
AU 9000AUD = 9642NZD - Australia
NZ 8499NZD

Obviously these are RRP. I ended up getting it at
7300NZD = 4437USD; 4069EURO; 6813AU; 3647GBP

Funny thing is that I would suspect our bikes come through an Australasian distributor so can't see why there is such a big price jump.

They're basically giving them to you guys for free !

Is it a promo/marketing thing to get the brand more established ?

Maybe you guys don't pay any tax on e-bikes ?

Yeah I don't know why they're cheaper, we pay 15% sales tax on everything. Trek has been a pretty solid brand since the 90s here.
We don't really get many of the non-mainstream brands here or if we do they're priced higher than a comparable main brand.

Where I live you could have for 50.000,00 wich is like US 10.000,00 only.

Many factors come in, transportation, import taxes, .....
In Canada we pay less than in the USA

I’m not sure those words mean what you think they do! There are some deals out there for sure.
