Oneup carbon bars, Knock block lockring adaptor & Non Trek stems

You're right Trek & Giant are very good value over here - well Trek was until the bikes ran out. My bike is now $2K more expensive than it was 2 months ago. Hmmm could I use that as justification to get the DVO coil...... I don't use youshop much now as I have found they are often more expensive...

Oneup carbon bars, Knock block lockring adaptor & Non Trek stems

Well problem solved. After realising I was totally overthinking it I got out the dremel & made a couple of grooves in the stem & sat it on the Trek spacers. My Funn stem is a bit narrower than the original so I put a couple of normal spacers on top & tightened it up. A bit time consuming but...

Oneup carbon bars, Knock block lockring adaptor & Non Trek stems

I don't think I'm welcome back at the bike shop now after my reply when they told me a simple Trek spacer (with the tabs) would cost $65.00NZ (33GBP) ? The normal ones down the road are $2 ea I have really gone off Trek as a brand for the propriety price gouging.

Oneup carbon bars, Knock block lockring adaptor & Non Trek stems

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll look at machining the stem I got as it will probably be the cheapest option.

Oneup carbon bars, Knock block lockring adaptor & Non Trek stems

I'd heard about the Oneup carbon bars being good for trail chatter & fatigue so bought a set. Then found out they only come in 35mm so bought a new stem. Then tried to put them on in the carpark by the trail & found out they don't fit because a special lockring spacer adaptor thing is needed to...

New Bosch Update out extra 10Nm Torque for the Rail!

TBH my legs, shoulders, retinas & brain are knackered before my battery is. My riding is more straight up & straight down sessions not so much touring or back country so the physical & mental output is quite intense.

New Bosch Update out extra 10Nm Torque for the Rail!

I never thought I'd want more power as I was always under the belief that I only needed enough to get to the top without feeling trashed. Now though after riding the new update I have come to my senses & realised the problems of the world can be solved with more & more torque

New Bosch Update out extra 10Nm Torque for the Rail!

Intially I thought it wasn't very good as I found giving a quick push on the flat trail you could feel it overrun as it should but on a steep track it didn't seem to work. I have consequently found it to be actually quite good. I went up a steep rock slope the other day just by giving a quite a...

Maxxis Minion DHRII 3C for Rail 7

As soon as I put on minions the bike just seems to sigh with relief. I have run the Srs & started thinking that they were not as bad as I imagined however changing to minions was night & day in the corners. (I run DHFs front & back simply because they are usually on special half the price of the...

    Medium Rail 175mm Dropper?

They are 31.6mm aren't they? I don't want to order the wrong one for my 7 size Large. 180mm be easy changeover & not stick up too much?

The bicycle chain has finally been re-invented

Actually I'm pretty impressed with it when you look at the comarison on the scales. The old chain weighed 24.7kgs & the new one 24.2kgs Thats half a kilo - like a block of butter worth of weight or two glasses of beer or 1 1/2 pies. God the food you could eat before riding to compensate for the...

Buying a bike that rides great but looks horrible

Yes that is a much nicer looking bike. If we could get them over here in NZ I would have been keen. What was the price difference between that & the Rail?

    Newbie from Auckland, New Zealand

Ha sounds like a good plan. Revisiting the tracks we used to ride on the motos. Funny as a lot of guys that had motos are now riding ebikes now as there's nowhere to ride them anymore. We may be heading up to check out Hawkes Bay. Def easier doing Maungatapu with the Ebike! Yeah after riding a...

    Newbie from Auckland, New Zealand

Bs bike is a spec epic 120mm. Yes the UK prices are insane in comparison to what we get them for. I got a Large & it seems like a medium as far as the top tube seems low. It came with a bloody 130mm dropper - what were they thinking???? So I will prob save up & get a longer one. I'm fitting...

    Newbie from Auckland, New Zealand

Well well well look who it is... lil bro in law :geek: It's a small world. As discussed I got the Rail 7. I did a lot of research over covid & was keen on the Giant Reign. As I'm a tight arse I've found Giant are always best value for money & I've enjoyed owning them however all the reviews...
