I found that for Sprag bearings it is recommended to use Shell Gadus S2 V100 2

I have the box SM-PCE02 and I installed Etube for Windows V4.0.3, I did not install V5.0.1 because looks like Shimano removed the battery health diagnostic in this version.
But I can not find the setting to change the motor angle, I mean, if I buy a spare motor, how do I set the motor angle in...
You have to configure some parameters, like "Motor Angle" , gears and "Wheel circunference", just copy the values from old motor. The easiest way is to use APP STUNLOCKER
Yes, it is the spider to attach the crank ring to Shimano Steps motor E8000, EP8

Finally my "motor" noise was not coming from the motor but from the Rear Axle. My original Rear Axle broke and I bought a compatible Maxle, but the original one has a "cone head" (which is removable) and the new one has a flat head, so I transfered the cone to the new Maxle and it fitted...
Hi, let me summarize what I believe you did and please, correct me if I am wrong. We know very little about the errors in these motors and these repairs help to improve the understanding.
You had a E8000-1 where bearings exploded and damaged the gears, but electronics were fine
You bought...
First I have to say that I have been a loyal Shimano customer since I started ebiking, 25 years ago. I mainly used XT components in my analog bikes and I liked the design, durability, robustness, aesthetics, price-quality ratio.
Three years ago, when I decided to buy an ebike I made a...
In a Facebook Shimano owners group was said that a fix to this error E010/w013 is to use APP STUNLOCKER (around $2) to change the chainring teeth number in motor configuration, and then change it back to the original size. I posted this fix here, but I am not sure if it works...
When this E010/W013 error appears, everybody blames battery connection and if cleaning the contacts does not fix the error, then it is said to be caused by a Software error and the only fix is to replace the motor by a new one.
But before spending big bucks in a new motor, that probably is not...
As I said, I have not replaced beaings and I do not have experience, my comments come from previous posts in this thread.
6805z has metal seal and low friction, but bad water sealing. This is the one originally mounted in the motor.
6805 2rs has a rubber seal that has high friction and good...
I have not opened my motor so I do not know the answer. I am only getting my ducks in a row because I plan to keep my bike for as long as possible and sooner or later (I expect later) I'll have to change the motor bearings.
May be S3 can answer it.
In this thread, the people that has replaced bearings have found the seals to be fine and they have not replaced them. So I'd say that you should replace them ONLY if you find them to be damaged.
