I have the same noise, coming from rear axle. I tried re-greasing but it just worked for some hours. I think the bearings are the problem will try a replacement tomorrow. Cheers!
That's is exactly how I do it and how I suggest you to do it. If you don't need both batteries at 100% for your trip, start with the extender at 100% and main battery at 80%. Just remember to use some main battery and charge again if you don't use it for a month.

That's weird... how are you charging your bike? tell us how often, when...
You should not leave the battery below 20% or at 100% for long periods of time.
The software and hardware is modified by Giant so I think it won't work with Giant controller... but maybe if you add a yamaha controller to the equation... ^^
Orbea answered my email saying that 5NM is the correct torque... unbelievable. They also attached a picture of the extender using washers while the original manual did not.
They did not even offer a replacement. However my LBS offered a free replacement.
I wish people will not use 5NM of they...
Yeah, it is so small that should not be noticeable. I own 3 ebikes and all has so minimal over run it cannot be noticed... it is impossible. Please do a check at your LBS.
If you take a look at the chainring you will see that it keeps spinning for 1/2 sec when you stop pedaling, but it won't...
It is a great addon, small and very well constructed. It is lightweight, however you will notice it specially while climbing.
I like the fact that you connect it and you don't need to switch it on individually, it will be used as you switch on your bike.
You won't be able to charge both...
