EP8 is a wonderful motor, very powerful and much more natural to ride than the yamaha. I have both and the yamaha is more powerful but the ep8 is much more smooth.
I think it is always a tight fit. You need to slide the extender laterally with some pressure. Don't be afraid of some holder bending when doing it. You need to insert it diagonally until you are under the rear suspension, then rotate it until parallel. Good luck!
If it goes away with some water it is not motor related. Some dust and lack of grease are the most common culprits. You need to check cranks, chainring, pedals, cables and everything close to the noise area. If you are not an expert finding noises a good lbs will take care of it easily.
Sorry to hear that. Most of the times this problem is related to the battery seat, but it requires patience and lot of trial to set it up correctly. I know because I had this problem on a very new bike a friend recently bought. We tried 10 different setups and since the last one, no more shut...
I am suffering this problem just 2 years and 2 weeks after... so Giant is saying not under warranty... unbelievable.
Not sure yet it if is battery or motor, but it will cost me ~800 eur
You can check the battery health status with the stunlocker app. Mine is at 99% after 6 months and 2000km.
So far the same as with others ebike I have.
I have been told that replacement is easy, you need to remove motor and then two screws that holds the battery in place.
I have left the bike at the LBS. It could be the battery, I tried another battery and for 1 hour it did not turn off. However it could the motor and I had a lucky ride xD
Thanks for your help. Mine is not a mechanical problem but electronic.
I have tried it in the night just now and it happens as soon as I use level 5 for 2 minutes… :(
Hi!
Today's ride was a total disaster. It is hot here but not much more than other days or years I have ridden this bike.
Anyway, when asking more power to the motor, the bike suddenly went off. Level 3 on some climbing or level 5 on flat terrain, it went off. I was able to switch it on again...
Hi!
My orbea rise with ep8 rs has developed a new noise, especially noticeable when the chainring goes backwards (moving the wheel backwards or rotating the chainring manually as seen in my video below, as pedaling backwards does not move the chainring).
To me it sounds like a bearing...
Hi,
thanks for your answer but that is not the case, I compared it some weeks ago with a brand new one from a friend, and some others have confirmed 5NM is too much for plastic.
Hi,
Today I just noticed a new noise from the motor area when moving the rear wheel backwards (making the chainring move backwards also).
Please take a listen to these videos and let me know what you think. I have just got the bike back because a fork repairing so this is becoming very...
