Can someone help clarify the difference in max assist between the 2018 Turbo Levo and the 2020 SL?
I understand the SL maxes out at doubling the power your legs put in.
And the 2018 is 1.5X the power you put in?
I can afford it but this is where I draw the line! Crazy and greedy.
I am lucky enough to have purchased a 2018 Epic SW, 2018 Turbo Levo SW, and a 2019 Venge SW. I only mention here to demonstrate that I can afford the Founder’s Edition. But at $20K ?! No way. The 2020 is about 30% more...
There will undoubtedly be teething pains with this all new model. And the belt driven motor of the 2018 and 2019 is definitely quieter. There’s no debating that.
I have a 2018 SWorks which I love. I think it’s a better balance between nimbleness and stability than the 2019, because the 2018...
Sorry bros, but not if you want to prolong the life of the battery. You have to cycle it (discharge/recharge) every few months.
This is per the instruction manual.
I also build digital connected devices using LiOn for a living...
Because you have to charge it every 3 months... which means you have to discharge it every 3 months. As with all LiOn batteries, you don't want to leave it sitting there for more than a few months.
Thought I’d share an easy way to run down the battery. As you know, Specialized recommends recharging the battery to at least 30% every 3 months.
How do you do that if you don’t ride the bike (in the winter, for example)?
The bike is on a stand an a simple clamp is pressing on the walk assist...
Yes, you definitely can use the bike without the battery. The 504MW battery in the 2018 weighs about 3KG.
On a side note: what a stupid law in Washington! Hopefully this changes soon. eBikes create no more damage to trails than non eBikes. Some argue they cause LESS damage.
Personally, I...
Yes, the battery is not allowed on flights, plus it likely exceeds the weight limit, as you point out. I’m still looking forward to shipping my Levo though!
Right... that’s not a worry I have. I build Bluetooth enabled devices for a living. There’s no way anyone can know if you reset it back to default.
No respected bike shop would switch to the N American limits anyway, outside of NA, even if they could.
