Hi again Ren,
As some of the guys have mentioned.
Commencal is a nice bike and another good option.
Looks like they have a similar price structure to Merida in NZ.
Their 2019 range is due in a couple of weeks and they are based in Christchurch according to their web site.
Hi Ren,
Are you able to take both bikes for a ride. It’s a personal thing.
I’m in the Merida camp. Four of us have Meridas which we all really enjoy. None of us have had any issues so far, Iv’e clocked 3500 on mine.
Good luck.
Hi Dave, I’m just off to Keiteriteri mtb Park for a ride with a couple of mates, one of whom had a heart attack three years ago.
Thanks to our ebikes we are all able to have heaps of fun.
I’m fighting off cancer and we are all around seventy so you have plenty of time to enjoy the new bike...
Hi rippa,
Fitted Cush core a couple of weeks ago, mainly to eliminate pinch flats. I don’t know if it’s my imagination but the tires seem to have a better ride/feel to them. Time will tell.
Don’t think they help with comfort.
I use my old WTB Pure pro saddle, much more comfortable than the brick...
Hi, I have had the same problem. Iv,e changed to X Fusion which works for me, just.
Looks the same as the post on my wife’s 800e.
The valve at the bottom of the Reverb is the problem for me.
One Up have a short insertion post which I think has had good reviews.
Good luck.
Enjoy your new...
Hi, thanks for the clear photos.
After making a botch up replacing my dropper post it looks like I will have to install a completely new cable. The old one got snagged and came apart when trying to pull through as a draw wire.
Was it much of a job to remove the motor?
After getting a couple of ‘ burp’ flats when going tubeless and not being able to reseat the bead out on the track:mad: . I’ve just fitted Cushcore inners. Wasn’t too difficult after watching their installation video. Will be interesting to see how they perform.
Hi Ron,
Iv’e fitted Miranda155 cranks, they have been great so far. No pedal strikes. Delta SH for Shimano steps.
Ordered direct from factory, only took a week.
Had a reverb on my old Santa Cruz, it packed up after six months.
I wondered how long one would last on the Merida - 8 months.
Have replaced it with a cheaper Brand X Ascend, at least they are reliable.
Hi Rocky,
Yes, our Merida’s have been very reliable. We have a great time on them. Trouble is we clock up a lot more miles so maintenance costs add up, especially NZ prices. I tend to get most parts in from Germany, tires, brake pads, chains etc.
I have an E160 900e and my wife has the E120 800...
