Couldn’t agree more Gary.
Haveing an Emtb certainly helps, carrying tools up to those higher tracks. I try to do some maintenance 1 or 2 days a week but I’m retired so I can get up there at anytime.
We also have working bees every Sunday morning during the winter months so it’s great to enjoy...
I had an annoying creak under load on my 900e. Turned out to be the bolt at the bottom of the rear shock. Re greased fixed the problem.
A friend had the same problem with his 800.
Good luck.
Hi guys,
I have been using tubeless for the last year. Installed Cushcore about two months ago.
Managed to get a puncture out on the trail a couple of days ago that Stan’s couldn’t cope with.
Thought I would remove the Cushcore and instal a tube, YEAH RIGHT.
Not without plenty of soapy water...
Hi,
I really notice a huge difference with great shocks on the rough stuff, ruts, routes etc. Helps with all my aches and pains but I’m only 67.
Enjoy yourself.
Just fitted E7000 control switches to my 900e.
They certainly free up some space on my bars. The reverb dropper button now fits under the bar nicely out of harms way.
The controls are great to use and very easy to install.??
Hi Mountie,
The Merida E160 900e I have comes with XT Di2, uses the main battery. Not sure what’s involved in an after market installation but I’m sure some of the guys using this forum would have tried it on your model of bike. Maybe try a search on your bikes brand for some help.
Shimano have...
I managed to get 2000k’s out of my first chain. 1700 k’s out of second. KMC x11e.
I clean and lube after every ride and ease up when changeing gear.
Also have Di2 which makes for smooth cog changes.
Hi guys,
I see Bike24 have E7000 controllers in stock at last. Probably won’t last long. (Xmas presy for my 900e).
Have ordered left and right for di2 and assist. Hopefully will work out well with Reverb button placement.
Merida make great bikes.
I have the 900e and my wife has E120 800. Great reliable bikes.
Heaps of fun.
Done 4000k’s on mine now with no problems. Just the usual maintenance.
The 900e is a fantastic price for you guys in Aus.
Enjoy.?
Hi Kiwi73,
All those bikes look great.
I sold my 5010 as well, went for the Merida because of the great specs on the 900e although the price has gone up $1500 here in NZ since I bought mine. Still a great price in Aus.
Took me a month to get used to the weight difference.
Enjoy shopping around.
How is your wife enjoying her bike?
XS could suite my wife although the Merida’s small size has a little less stand over height.
I see we only have 0, +1 and +3 here in NZ. +2 is available in Giants LIV range.
Hi Laker,
Our Meridas both came tubeless ready. My wife’s E 120 800 and my 160 900e. Iv’e put Cushcore in mine, tyres feel more stable at lower pressures and no more burp flats.
They are expensive and a bit of a job to install so it really depends on the type of riding you intend to do.
I really...
My wife is eyeing up Merida E120 600 in the small size if stand over height is a problem. The Trance is a nice bike also.
I have a Merida so we can swap batteries if required.
Maybe you both want to stick to the same brand as well.
