Welcome, my wife and I have Mereda’s.
There sure is a huge choice, even here in NZ. More updates coming up all the time as you can see in this forum.
Have fun and enjoy yourselves.
I didn’t change anything else. Seems to work out for me. Am able to use my dropper seatpost fully extended now, had problems before because of my short legs.
The bike looks exactly the same to me although Carlos on the Merida thread has pictures of the 2019 bike in black an gold.
Maybe that model will have a few changes.
New price sure puts the 900e up with some exotic company, not quite the great deal they were for the build spec.
Hi guys,
If you feel like riding in Keiteriteri mtb Park when you are down this way drop me a line. I’m in Motueka. Usually spend 4 days a week up there working or riding.
My wife has a Merida E120 800 with Di2 which she really enjoys.
I have the E160 900e. Our friends have E160 800 and E120...
Seems to depend on how charged the battery is.
If the battery is fully charged I get around 32, if the battery is down a bit I get around 30.
Also seems to vary a little with different brands.
I can ride at 22 beside my mate on his Bosch powered beast, he gets 23 on his display. Same wheal size.
We use an Ezigrip Ebike rack on our 4wd. Easy to load both our ebikes and much cheaper than Thule. Got one from Torpedo on special for $650.
Otherwise maybe try an exhaust extension to take the heat away from the wheel.
Good luck.
Yes, I know some things only the Shimano rep can do.
Here in NZ Shimano upgraded our top speed from 25 to 32 k’s.
The rep had to do the mod, not the dealer.
As you can see from this thread, some of the guys have made some major mods. I’m happy with mine as standard except for ordering shorter 150 cranks because of pedal strike and my little short legs.
Suggest you have a few good trial runs before making too many mods. It’s a great bike as is.
Hi Joss,
I originally purchased an 800 but after a few months decided to get the 900e. My wife know rides the 800.
I’ve found the 900 much more enjoyable, better shocks and brakes have made a big difference especially the X2.
The only changes I have made are better pedals and have just ordered...
Have ordered 150’s as they are out of stock in 155’s.
Store is closed until September 3 for Holliday’s.
Cost of freight to get them out here to NZ costs almost as much as the cranks themselves. Ouch!!
