Hi, nice bike you have there. I’m sure you will enjoy yourselves when you have one bike each.
My wife and I both have Merida’s.
Great part of the world down there, heaps of exploring to do.I went down to do the Bannockburn Classic several times when I lived in Geraldine.
Up in Motueka now so...
Hi Brett,
Great bike, such fantastic value in Aus.
I have done 6000 trouble free k’s over the last 16months and still love mine.
May be tempted by the new E160 9000 but will probably be far too expensive here in NZ.
Enjoy??
I have the Miranda 155’s which have been great but I’m only 5’7.
You would probably get away with the Shimano 165’s.
I got too many pedal strikes with the 175’s, mostly due to my lack of skill.
There is a lot of info within this forum on this topic. Try a search on shorter cranks or Miranda.
Nice looking bike but I’m more than happy with my 900e, it’s a great bike.
The 10k will probably be around $16000 here in NZ.
An extra $6000 for a fancy battery and a bit of carbon. I don’t think so.
Hope the new bikes perform as good as they look to justify the huge price.
E MTB magazine gave...
Have you checked the Merida prices in NZ compared to Aus.
E160 900e is $10000 here and around $6400 in Aus.
I’d be bringing an extra bike back in my suitcase??
I thought I had possible bottom bracket problems as well.
Took out the engine mounting bolts and greased them, luckily this stopped the noise problem.
Good luck.
If it’s around $11k in Aus lt will be around $16k here in NZ.
I think I’ll be keeping my 900e for a long time yet.
I hope we will still be able to get replacement batteries in a few years time.
Not sure if XTR 12 speed is the way to go.
Hi mik and welcome.
A couple of nice bikes you have there. I’m sure you will have a great time on them.
They take a bit of time to get used to but your bike shop will help with setting you up comfortably. Even things like handlebar width and rotating your brake and gear controls to suit you...
I get an average 1900k out of a KMC X11E chain.
Changed the cassette with every 2nd chain.
Changed the chainring at 4500k just in case.
Clean and lube after every ride. I have Di2 which may also help and ease up when changeing gears.
I have a similar Silki saw which has got through a power of work and remained VERY sharp over the last couple of years.
Can certainly bite if any of your body bits get in the way.
