I'm not to happy with the durability of 2.8 exo minion. There is plenty of tread left but the side wall failed and the rubber has come away from the Kevlar or whatever it is that they make the bead out of. I could take it back but after having to return two helmets to the shop after premature...
Anyone wearing something water proof? I've been wearing leather/ goretex walking boots and whilst they keep my feet dry my toes get freezing cold even with thick socks.
Currently using 3 in 1 spray oil applied before every ride. Not sure on longevity yet but I washes off easily with the hose pipe after a ride. First chain did 600-700 miles to just before 0.75 % wear.

Review: I've only had one short ride so I will update this as time goes on. They are very plush and soo much better/nicer than my old suntour aion forks. No wobbling/ vibrating when applying the...
They are good but not perfect. If running 27.5+ or 29er the front will need an extension on the back of it to stop the mud going in your face, I used a bit of a plastic bottle. The rear could do with extending forward of the seat stays to stop all the mud going on your shock and pivot bearings...
I I've had a dainese gladiator jacket for 10 years and have used it mostly for Mx. It's been very good and is only starting to get a bit tired now. It still works but last year I got a couple new zips fitted. I would recommend you use elbow/fore arm pads, they have the most scratches on my jacket.
I tried tubeless but it's a bloody mess when you have to fit a tube out in the field. I'm back on tubes now with a load of tyre slime in. I had hardly any punctures with tubes and slime but I do put double the slime in compared to what it's said on the bottle.
I found with shorter 152 mm cranks that I get less pedal strikes and that I don't Bob up and down so much when spinning them at higher cadence. They may have lost a bit of power but its a ebike so who cares.
I know it's not a massive amount of money but I'm getting about 900-1000 miles out of 1 cassette, two chains and one motor sprocket and one set of cables, that's about £150. This time I'm trying cheaper sprocket, £15 instead of £40, different oil and changing chain earlier, 0.5 instead of 0.75%...
I went tubeless but after my side wall failed on my minion I have since gone back to tubes. If you get a flat with tubeless you end up in a right mess.
Thanks for all the replies.
What is the part that wears ? It's been a while since I split a chain. Does the roller sit on the turned in lip of the link plate or directly on the river? If 11 speed plate is 1.6 and 9 is 1.78 then is there more metal for the roller to sit on?
That's another...
My bike is currently 11 speed slx cassette, dreailer and shifter. I'm thinking for my next , 3rd, cassette I would like to try a 8 or 9 speed set up. My rational being maybe the wider chain could last longer and I don't really need the big sprockets on the rear. I have seen a review on this...
