Mahle/Ebikemotion won’t address this when I ask even though it is clearly touted as a feature for their Apple Watch app, and the watch app specifically and only asks for permission to read HR.
Another RM dealer recommended me to empty and charge it completely 2-3 times before evaluating the consumption. Apparently sometimes the new batteries “sleep”. (EDIT: Obviously much the same as you said, Flatslide ).
It seems to get slightly better range now the second time I have completely...
I have a 2021 Instinct Powerplay myself but haven’t had this problem yet. I don’t know if this is the recommended approach but have you tried taking off the motor cover and physically unplugging power cable then plug back after 10-20 secs ? Also check if both power and iwoc connectors are dry.
That doesn’t sound like a good idea. When Specialized had transitioned to the new improved version of the Levo motor last summer, and provided extended warranty for all 19/20 Levos, they also said they had discovered a bug in the previous firmware which gave insane spikes in power for...
Another update on the failed OTA motor update to 7.4.2.
LBS did a forced cable update on Saturday and everything was then fine again. I would put this down as the OTA function of the app not being totally safe. But I can’t say it seems very widespread an issue. I have confirmation that...
My Rocky Mountain Powerplay’s top assistance level, famous for disproportionately draining the battery compared to the lower levels, is actually called “ludicrous mode”, like the toggle on Teslas which lets hell loose. I wonder whether (and it actually feels like) this also lets it all out raw...
I’m not going to argue with you about your opinion, but regarding the Tesla-bit: my Tesla has the same throttle experience whether battery is high or low (except for battery-saving mode when very low). I’m sure ludicrous mode switches this off and pumps all the juice out (and therefore *may*...
The voltage compensation is obviously as it should have been from the start. You should get the same expected power no matter what battery level you are at (except actual emergency mode at a very low level). That customers over a long time have gotten used to slightly more punch at higher...
Specialized must be so pissed off at Brose. I had to wait an extra week for replacement last July because my dealer said Specialized refused to replace any more motors with the current (previous gen) stock.
They also started using Mahle motors on the SL, and I guess a contract and promises from...
It’s still so darn cold up here so don’t think I will be able to run it down on one trip yet. But will ride this Thursday.
It was expensive but not as expensive as in your market. I hope there’s not anything wrong with the battery or motor.
You mean dated «July 2020»? That’s just after the new improved 2.1 motor was starting to get made.
I got a motor replacement to the new version (same as in 2021 Levo) in july 2020, and the sound was a bit different, but nothing like your video.
An update on the failed OTA motor update to 7.4.2, which turned motor unresponsive.
LBS has taken a look at uploaded advanced diagnostics and conferred with Specialized which recommended “forced” update by cable at LBS. It looks like very few others have experienced this, so don’t know whether...
Interesting. So my seen spikes in the consumption thread could actually really have been only the battery?
https://www.emtbforums.com/community/index.php?threads/Rocky-Mountain-Dyname-3%2E0-consumption.20666/&share_type=t&link_source=app
I still think 1800 watts reported consumption on such a...
No it does not apparently. That was enlightening. So not only the tuning settings gone wrong.
EDIT: no, the walk-mode works immeditaly after turning on, but if trying to ride neither support or walk-mode works anymore.
I’ll ask him to do the Advanced Diagnosis and will call my LBS tomorrow...
I’ve been in his situation before and feel for him standing out in the woods with an expensive but dead new-to-him emtb. And I can’t see that I couldn’t fix this somehow. Even though he says he has tried everything I’ve told him too there might be misunderstandings. So I guess I’ll be driving a...
Oh, yes of course. Thank you. I was thinking of actual hidden cables.
Well, the TCU is apparently getting power. And he has inspected and replaced lid, so I’m at a loss.
It would look like the firmware is the main suspect here though, maybe in a strange coincidence with the adding of the bike...
I tested it after washing it yesterday. Then he testsrode it. All fine. This happened after just updating the motor today. If there were actual no power to the motor I would guess the app diagnosis would say something about that? Yes, the TCU and app works fine and doesn’t report anything...
