There you go. I have the opposite feeling concerning noise and felt turbo really kicked. But there are many factors and heightened sensitivity after the motor replacement, and I don’t have a typical test track. Did you get a June 2020 motor too?
Thanks guys! I got to get more tools. But I cleaned as much as I could behind the crank arms and it seemed to go away. Then my chain guard went bent and then the steerer tube started to creak. Tightened the top screw on the latter according to spec and all is well at this hour [emoji846]
Right. Tested now. Nothing out of the ordinary except walk-assist (which is still perfectly usable). Same acceleration and torque. I did think the motor was more silent but that may be my imagination.
Drove an hour to my LBS today for the big motor firmware update. I bought my Levo Comp 2020 another place online but he didn’t charge me for this. Of course I recently got the new June 2020 motor replacement there as well, which Including service came to about GBP 80.
If anyone is wondering...
I like that an emtb is more forgiving when it comes to frame weight, assuming the weight difference between alu and carbon is meaningful in 2020.
But, maybe unpopular opinion, I think the slightly “old school” geometry of Rocky Mountain and the like is more efficient and “correct” for a general...
Brose is German. Levo is designed in Switzerland.
Oh, Bosch, the one my mate is still waiting over a month for a motor replacement. My Brose was changed in 5 days from claim and Specialized apologised(!) for that delay. My motor didn’t even ever stop working or make a strange sound. It was only...
Well, yes, but mostly because my LBS threw in a full service as well. Then everything was tight and noiseless.
I think I had it coming back now though. And it seems to be the chain guard rubbing in high gears.
And a new creak from the fork area after a lot of washing of the bike. I guess...
As I said further above, I had my first and only motor replacement very recently. It is a Levo Comp 2020 with a motor manufactured in May 2019. It took 5 days in Norway and I was told there had recently been more of a delay because Specialized had sent back all motors and they were all to be...
Are you supposed to oil or grease the crank on Turbo Levos ?
I just had a motor replacement on my 2020 Levo Comp and a service and everything sounded dandy. I have gone for several extended rides since in rainy and muddy weather. Which also means I have been spraying and cleaning my bike...
RebornRider You should check diagnosis in the Mission Control app the next time this happens, and see what temperature the motor and battery has internally. On my alu frame I don’t think it has been over 48°C the times I have checked after a climb. Again, not hotter than 24°C in Norway though.
I have a 2020 Levo Comp, but I also had a motor replacement recently. Last week actually. It was manufactured on the 31st of June 2020.
It did feel a bit different from the old the first kilometres but now I don’t notice or think about it anymore. And it certainly has not abruptly dropped power...
I have a Thule Velospace XT3 and rain hasn’t been an issue. Have driven two hour journeys in rain with my 2020 Levo Comp on there and no issues. Just not move the battery-motor connection while dripping wet. I did recently have a motor replacement but it was supposedly because of the torque sensor.
Guys, it seems RM didn’t bother to make the C70 as a BC Edition. What does this point to? Are there benefits to a hydroformed alu frame for the BC use case?
I have friends who only look at carbon frames no matter what. To me it’s of course a price question but also the impression that...
Oops. That was more significant than what I was told (it’s hard to find the correct numbers myself for the 2021 models still).
Still, as Flatslide says, I don’t think I care enough about that extra weight to pay EUR 2000 more for the BC C90. Most extra weight is still on my belly and free to...
Haven’t noticed, but yes cleaner is better. That’s why I am very happy both Levo and Powerplays run with minimal dashboards. I know, how can it hurt with more info, and I am such a nerd about all the data afterwards, but I strive to forget all the tech and be in the moment when on the trails. I...
Thanks to all, really appreciate it, but especially Four Flusher ’s write up, as I am also coming from a Levo Comp 2020. I’m 45 and actually had my first ride on it again today after a motor replacement (after only 500km). Got a very new June 2020 Brose motor which actually felt a bit different...
The BB is a standard bike BB and separate from the motor. I’m so tired of crank motors you can’t open yourself without losing the warranty. And I feel there is so much more wear on those motors, at least the kinds I have had (and replaced). The separated Dyname setup (I guess) should...
