The image was removed again from the Norwegian importer’s site but I found it in Google’s cached version. I think the 2021 Powerplay bikes are publicly launched later in august. The image is denoted as “21” but it’s suspiciously similar to last years though.
Inspirational links! Thx! I haven’t...
I went with an Apple Watch 5 with 4G because I like to keep the cockpit clean. This doesn’t seem like it is the case with you but just to explain: You can run several apps at the same time, an example is Komoot for easyily navigating after a predefined route, “Beacon” in the Strava app, music...
Does anybody else feel a more noticeable shift (disengaging) from motor (eco) to no assist?I am very happy with the drag (=no drag) of the new motor with the new firmware. Don’t remember exactly how that used to be.
I came along the fjord in the background at 21:30 in Sandefjord, Norway with bunker ruins from the German occupation 1940-1945 (long sentence though [emoji846]).
Not exactly treating as trash, but it’s faster and burlier, and moves in rougher terrain than analogs, so gets more dings.
I have a matte black Levo Comp though so I have bought a “chemical” used on weapons to touch up the alloy and magically blacken it again. Useful on any dark alloy parts I...
You have so many cool hitch racks over there. I found two brands that would hold an
Emtb and 3 other bikes in Northern Europe. They’d make a fortune if they expanded to Europe, although I guess the construction and physics are quite different.
I don’t get my 2021 Instinct BC C90 before they decide to send a container for all preordered Norwegian customers all together over New Years I think. Some M and L sizes of some models come sooner for bike events at resorts and shop floors.
I haven’t done anything to my Levo’s stack or stem...
Wow. That’s a Rack. Is something similar available for euro hitches?
Anyway, if you have a euro hitch I’m very happy with the sturdy Thule Velospace XT3 (or XT2).
I’m also 193cm or 6 ft 4 inches btw. Still heavy, but a bit more context. [emoji846] It also means I always ride size XL. So although it fits my body better it’s still a lot to handle. I think it’s harder for me to be nimble (if we were equally fit). Especially with a Levo.
It’s the same in...
How did you switch lowers without it costing anything? Via Rocky? Fox?
I’m on the heavy side at 93 kg (205 lbs) so would think the 38 is alright, if not over the top. I don’t know what the weight penalty is.
I wholeheartedly agree about open systems. Didn’t know Mahle was that open about it...
Thanks for all tips!
Yeah... the app thing.... the ebikemotion app from Mahle (which, for new readers, Rocky Mountain relies on) looks incredibly sad and 10 years old designwise. Only plus is that there’s also an Apple Watch app.
It amazes me that Rocky Mountain dares to «outsource» it all...
That was an awesome write up of your experience. I followed you on Strava too for more of those Altitude pics.
You know what, you guys in this thread made me go bigger than I thought. I pre-ordered the bike with the amazing name of Rocky Mountain Instinct British Columbia Edition C90 Powerplay...
I bought mine in Italy and had the motor replaced and the FW upgrade done at nearest shop in Norway. If it’s where you bought it it’s usually all free, but I had to pay for whatever Spec doesn’t refund the shop. So about EUR 80 for the time changing the motor and that also meant I got the FW...
Considering the huge hop in the version number I would think there are lots of small and big fixes in there. It may also use less battery with all those “micro short spikes” removed.
The spikes where so short a rider wouldn’t notice, and they say they haven’t moved any of the other numbers. I would assume the previous motor would save itself too if under heavy load for a long period of time.
